so frustrated that I keep sabotaging my wellbeing in this way 593 Posts Send PM Helen63 Reply 12 2 months 3 weeks ago I see yes that s a tricky one a whole different group of emotions It s also a hard one to manage if you are not going by weightloss it s hard to know when you are in ketosis we know the sticks are unreliable Although you are sensitive to carbs I do suggest you introduce more phase 2 foods which are not forbidden they are allowed Phase 2 is still very much doing Atkins just try to get more variety so when you eat some berries you don t think you have blown it I do hope you are blessed with another little one 13 983 Posts Send PM Ellen Reply 13 2 months 3 weeks ago Agree with Helen here Maybe you should conduct your own personal experiment using the sticks for guidance I know they are unreliable but if you check just once a day maybe just before lunch you could then do a weeks phase one clean eating checking at the same time every day for ketosis just before a meal rather than after and then continue with that but adding things in one at a time just to see how quickly you come out of ketosis Or so ething like that 507 Posts Send PM Ruth Reply 14 2 months 3 weeks ago Thanks Helen and Ellen Somehow it seems that the more choice I have the more I tend to freak out Having said that freaking out over the occasional unavoidable high carb meal and resorting to full on binge mode clearly isn t working for me physically or mentally I can generally tell when I m in ketosis skin and hair less greasy reduced appetite cravings under control TERRIBLE keto flu if I neglect to up the salt potassium intake MUCH flatter stomach unable to run as far as usual until I m fully established in ketosis As I say I m feeling a lot more positive today and it s thanks to the support I m getting here Thank you 13 983 Posts Send PM Ellen Reply 15 2 months 3 weeks ago Maybe that s what you need to go by then the symptoms But I would keep a log of what you re eating not necessarily quantities but which foods so that when you experience any of the symptoms you have a record of what you ve had in the day or two prior to the symptoms so that you can narrow down the culprits Most people are creatures of habit and the foods they eat are limited so you should be able to idenfy particular culprits reasonably easily If you do this though remember to include drinks and sweeteners 1 2 Our specialists Linda Nutritionist Colette Nutritionist New Atkins is based on years of scientific research and backed by medical experts Meet our Science team and
