    showcase the latest cutting edge machinery and components on the eve of the new season The inaugural show in January 1996 featured just under 50 exhibitors and has gone from strength to strength and now almost 300 of the world s leading companies The show s influence was evidenced by the growing number of exhibitors who also used the show to grow their businesses both in the UK and globally and the standout highlights include 2000 Organisers introduce two dedicated trade days in response to the show s growing influence within the industry 2001 Advantage West Midland and British Trade International create new trade pavilion at Autosport Engineering to support 55 Rover suppliers following the collapse of the manufacturer six months prior The pavilion is aimed at assisting these suppliers in expanding their export opportunities following the crisis 2005 Manufacturing Technology area introduced within Autosport Engineering It incorporates a growing number of companies who supply manufacturing equipment to companies making hard parts such as engines valves and gearboxes 2008 Force India Formula 1 team chooses Autosport Engineering as the launchpad for its advanced new F1 car VJM01 2011 Introduction of International Motorsport Business week IMBW in partnership with UK Trade Investment UKTI This initiative attracts more overseas visitors plus a growing number of UK trade buyers to the show and forms part of an extended range of business activities and networking events 2015 Designated Low Carbon area makes its debut This area recognises the importance and rapid development of the many forms of low carbon technology in both motorsport and automotive sectors Autosport Engineering remains Europe s foremost platform for suppliers of technical motorsport products and advanced engineering services to showcase the latest cutting edge technology to more than 27 000 registered trade visitors over 5 000 of which are
