    on Wednesday Defender Christian Bubalovic made his debut and he replaced Nikola Vukanac while Vito Plut regained a first eleven start as he replaced Edison Bilbao The Croatian coach fielded a 4 1 2 3 formation Kopric retained his place between the posts Bubalovic and Mazzetti formed the centre backs with Gujanovic and Zerafa on the side backs The midfield trio was once again composed by Sciberras as holding midfielder while Andelkovic and Agius were given the nod to push forward Frank Temile and Ryan Camenzuli started at either side of the central striker Vito Plut The substitutes bench once again featured six players under the twenty one years of age while Justin Haber Philip Schranz Edward Herrera and Ryan Scicluna all remained side lined The First Half The Stripes had the first scoring opportunity on the sixth minute Agius won possession from the erratic Luke Dimech and served Vito Plut on the run The latter advanced forward but his shot was parried by Zammit A minute later Muir for Sliema went wide with a shot from outside the box Sliema were unlucky not to surge ahead on the thirteenth minute Rafael Ledesma back heeled the ball to an unmarked Muir on the run inside the box but his shot hit the foot of the post while from the rebound Bezzina s low cross travelled across the mouth of the goal but found none of his team mates However it was the Stripes that broke the deadlock on the sixteenth minute Temile was fouled outside the box and from the resulting free kick Ryan Camenzuli s shot took a deflection by Sciberras and gave goalkeeper Zammit no chance This was the second goal for the left footed winger in four days After conceding the goal Sliema were trying to play more direct football with most of their long balls played on their centre striker Rafael Ledesma However they were failing to penetrate the third end as once again Birkirkar s defence looked steady and Sliema only threatened with a free kick by Muir which ended over past the half hour mark The Stripes doubled the lead on the thirty sixth minute A well delivered corner kick by Andelkovic saw Mazzetti s effort not cleared by the Sliema s rearguard and Bubalovic had his header cleared off the goal line but from the rebound Temile drilled the ball home Birkirkara ended the first half leading by two thanks to a goal each by Ryan Camemzuli and Frank Temile The Second Half Three minutes into the second half the Stripes went close to increasing their lead Plut served Ryan Camemzuli inside the box but the latter s shot ended wide while on the fifty fourth minute Andelkovic served an excellent through ball to Plut but his shot ended wide Near the hour mark the Stripes went close once again Gareth Sciberras served Mujanovic on the right wing with the latter controlling the ball before crossing into the path of Camenzuli who hit

    Andelkovic were not in the line up and Nikola Vukanac and Edison Bilbao were drafted back in the fray Temile started on the bench and Cain Attard was given the nod from the start The Croatian coach opted for 4 1 2 3 formation Kopric defended the posts Vukanac and Bubalovic formed the centre backs while Attard and Zerafa started on the sides Sciberras was deployed in front of the defence supported by the advanced midfielders Agius and Bilbao Camenzuli and Mujanovic patrolled the wings that were at the either side of central striker Vito Plut The Club s latest signing Ryan Darmanin was named among the substitutes after joining our Club on Tuesday On the other hand Justin Haber Edward Herrera and Ryan Scicluna remained unavailable The First Half The Stripes had an early penalty shout after three minutes Camenzuli served Plut who got floored by the challenge of goalkeeper Jake Galea but referee Stefan Pace saw nothing wrong Following a quiet start St Andrew s had their first shot by Jonathan Perez ending over while at the other end Camenzuli delivered a dangerous cross in the path of Gujanovic but he failed to connect in front of goalkeeper Galea and the latter saved the attempt The Stripes went close on the fifteenth minute Edison Bilbao drifted into the box before serving Vito Plut who running towards goal had his shot blocked by goalkeeper Jake Galea However the Stripes surged ahead in their next attack Ryan Camenzuli delivered a low cross that crossed across the goal and Goran Mujanovic showed great skill to control and drill a well placed low shot past goalkeeper Galea to open his scoring account with our Club Birkirkara were now in total command and they threatened to double the lead on the twenty fifth minute Camenzuli shifted the ball from the left to the right side with a precise cross in the direction of Mujanovic who chested the ball to Agius and the latter s first timer scratched past the far post The Stripes were also dangerous with a cross by Zerafa but the defence cleared his attempt From the counter attack Kyrian Nwoko unleashed a powerful shot from distance but goalkeeper Kopric saved in two attempts Birkirkara went close again just before the half hour mark Cain Attard advanced on the right channel before picking up Plut inside the box but after he controlled the ball his close range effort was blocked by Galea with Nkene clearing the ball into a corner kick Ten minutes from half time Bilbao s corner kick was short cleared and from the rebound Mujanovic went wide by inches from inside the box Five minutes later Jonatan Perez for St Andrew s went over with a shot from outside the box St Andrew s equalised just before half time against the run of the play Enmy Pena Beltre was floored by Joseph Zerafa inside the box and the referee had no option but to point to the spot

    team in the historic win against Netherlands Zach was also called to join the Under 21 National Squad in 2011 He made his debut in the goal less draw against Finland on the 3 June 2011 which was the first match of UEFA European Under 21 Championship Group 2 Qualifying Round On 1 September 2011 Zach managed to score his first goal with the squad in the 4 1 loss against Slovenia With Pieta Hotspurs in the 2011 2012 season Zach had a season of ups and downs Without doubt the positive side was his solid performances but on the negative side Pieta Hotspurs failed to win promotion to the Premier League division after dominating the league for the first months Pieta Hotspurs ended in the third position and Muscat managed to netted two goals Season 2012 2013 As expected during the 2012 Summer Transfer Market several clubs were interested in Zach s services but it was Birkirkara who managed to acquire his services and on Tuesday 7 August 2012 he signed a contract with our Club Zach made his official debut with our Club on Monday 20 August in the comfortable 4 0 victory over Melita which saw Birkirkara opening the 2012 2013 Premier League in style The 2012 2013 season proved to be a dramatic one for Muscat Being the first season in the top division for the promising youngster one might have had doubt how much Zach could manage to increase in his level to reach Premier League level However not only did Zach manage to reach the Premier League level but his determination and will to improve established him as one of the best Premier League youngsters In this season Zach manage to earn a regular place in the Stripes rear guard and he managed to make 26 appearances in the Premier League competition in which he started twenty matches while he was included as a substitute six times Also Muscat managed to find the net twice with his second and the most memorable goal arriving on the 11 May in the league decider match against Hibernians which the Stripes won with a 3 1 score Muscat scored the third goal to seal the issue for the Stripes to win their fourth championship in their history Season 2013 2014 After spending a brilliant season in his first year spell with our Club Zach was offered a three year deal contract which he signed on Monday 15 July 2013 The 2013 2014 season was another successful for Muscat who remained a regular choice for Mr Paul Zammit s side The strong and promising defender once again enjoyed brilliant performance in the heart of the Birkirkara s defence During this season Muscat made a total of twenty eight appearances in the BOV Premier League in which he started twenty six matches while he was included as a substitute two times During this season he managed to find the net twice one in the BOV Premier League and the

    Club The first season with our Club was a memorable one He had a very satisfactory season where he was a regular choice to Coach Mr John Buttigieg and made twenty eighth appearances in the Premier League and scored one goal The best was yet to come as the Stripes won their fourth FA Trophy to be the first silverware for Fenech with our Club Season 2008 2009 Despite the 2008 2009 didn t produce any silverware for the Stripes Paul continued to build on his performances and he continued to establish himself as one of the most promising midfielders on our islands During this season he made twenty seven appearances in which he started twenty five matches while he was included as a substitute twice He managed to score goal during the Premier League campaign Season 2009 2010 The 2009 2010 season remains a memorable one for Paul Fenech as Birkirkara on the third BOV Premier League in their history For Fenech this was the first league title in his career In another outstanding season for the tireless midfielder he made twenty six appearances in the memorable Premier League campaign scored once and he was voted twice the BOV Player of the Match This season also had a special meaning for Fenech as he recognition at a National Level once again when he was called by the former head coach of Birkirkara Mr John Buttigieg to join the Maltese National Team He made his National debut against Bulgaria in a Friendly Match in which Malta lost with a 4 1 score line Season 2010 2011 In the next season the 2010 2011 Paul Fenech reduced his level as he failed to reach the previous season s level although he was still one of the best players in the Birkirkara midfield In the Premier League he had 23 appearances and he started in all of them while he missed 5 matches through suspension He managed to score four goals this season and he managed to score his first brace ever with Birkirkara in the win against Hibernians with a score of 3 1 which was played on the 18th December 2010 Season 2011 2012 Paul s performances improved considerably from the previous season and in the Premier League he made 26 appearances in which he began 24 and was included as substitute twice In this competition he managed to find the net once when on the 11 November Paul scored the equalising goal in the 2 1 win over Balzan Youths Season 2012 2013 Paul s 2012 2013 season was a dramatic one which saw him clinching the top awards both with his Club and personally The Stripes won their fourth Championship in their history while on a personal note he won the second league title in his career The hard working midfielder also won the MFA Player of the Year award for the first time In a season where Paul s performances certainly impressed the Maltese football followers he

    one of the best youngsters on the island who ever played for Birkirkara FC Rowen started practicing football at a very young age at the Birkirkara nursery and has never left the Club Even at his tender age in the nursery he was always capable of showing great potential Season 2009 2010 The 2009 2010 season was a a special one for Rowen as the promising youngster managed to earn his place for the first time ever with the Senior Team and to round it off in a wonderful way the Stripes won their third Premier League in their history The youngster debut was on the 10th October when he comes as a substitute against Dingli Swallows in the last ten minutes while Muscat s name in the starting eleven for the first time was on the 18th October 2009 against the Hibernians where they shared the spoils in a 2 2 draw Besides being introduced to and later on becoming a regular player in the senior squad this was a memorable for Rowen as The Stripes were crowned champions for the third time in their history In this 2009 2010 season Rowen made 21 appearances and he started eighteen matches from the start and was included as a substitute three times He won the Man of the Match twice The first time was on the 6th March 2010 when our team managed to defeat Qormi with a 2 0 score line The second time was on the 28th March when our team registered one of the most important wins that season in the match against Valletta which put The Stripes four points clear of their rivals Season 2010 2011 Rowen s second season with the senior squad was not as successful as he decreased his level and he failed to find consistency In the Premier League Rowen made 20 appearances and he was included in the starting line up of all 20 matches Season 2011 2012 Rowen s 2011 2012 season was quite an acceptable one but still consistency lacked in Rowen s performances In the Premier League he made 22 appearances in which he began 18 and was included as a substitute four times He scored his first ever goal with our Club in this competition in the 2 3 loss against Tarxien Rainbows which was played on the 6 November 2011 Season 2012 2013 Nursery product Rowen Muscat had another positive 2012 2013 season Once again he maintained his regular place in the defensive midfielder role besides wining his second Premier League title In this season Rowen made 30 appearances in the Premier League competition out of which he began 25 matches while he was included as a substitute in five matches In the same competition Muscat managed to score four goals In the MFA Awards 2013 which were held on the 14 June Rowen s brilliant goal in the 7 1 victory against Mosta which was played on the 13 March 2013 was voted as the
