    Team by Ayrton Galea 23rd November 2015 Raina Giust has been selected for the first time to join the Women s National Team She will be joining another six Birkirkara FC Women s Team players for the Women s National Team two friendly matches against Azerbaijan Enjoying an outstanding form in the BOV Women s First Division League Raina Giusti has been rewarded for her efforts as she has been called up with the National Team for the first time in her career at the age of eighteen years The other six players are goalkeeper Janice Xuereb Stephania Farrugia Yasmeen Vella Gabriella Zahra Alishia Sultana and Kim Parnis who are all established team players with the National Team Giusti the Birkirkara winger who is the team s top scorer with five goals has produced electrifying performance during this league campaign and the call up is certainly not a surprise for Women s football followers The speed and technique defines her as one of the best attacking players on the island We talked with Raina following her call up with the National Team She started by saying It was a big surprise It was my aim and I was working very

    Us Contact Stripes to start second round commitments against Naxxar Lions by Ayrton Galea 21st November 2015 Birkirkara FC will be seeking to extend their unbeaten run in the BOV Premier League when in the first match of the second round they will face Naxxar Lions FC The Stripes will be starting the second round with a high morale after extending their unbeaten streak with a goal less draw against Floriana where the Stripes played over twenty minutes with one player less after Joseph Zerafa was sent for a double booking in quick succession Birkirkara s slow start in the BOV Premier League with a defeat and two draws in the first five matches has been surpassed with recent results as they are now currently the most consistent side in the Premier League enjoying an eighth match unbeaten run while also having the best attack and the best goal difference Naxxar Lions are third from bottom but they are also enjoying a positive run as they collected seven points from their last four matches They beat Mosta with a surprising 2 0 score and St Andrew s with a 2 1 score while they earned a point in a 1 1 draw against Qormi in their last match to recover from a 2 1 defeat against Sliema Wanderers The Stripes are temporarily in the third place sharing the spot with Hibernians three points behind leaders Valletta who defeated St Andrew s yesterday evening and one point behind Balzan All three teams following the leaders have a game in hand On the other hand Naxxar are enjoying a two point lead over Qormi and seven points over bottom placed St Andrew s Coach Giovanni Tedesco will have to do without three regular players as Joseph Zerafa and Paul Fenech are suspended

    Heidi Kjaer moves back to Denmark by Ayrton Galea 20th November 2015 Danish forward Heidi Kjaer s short adventure with our Club has come to an end as the twenty four year old striker will be returning to Denmark to finish her studies Heidi joined our Club on the 16 September and she made her debut six days later in the 2 0 defeat against Hibernians in the BOV Women s Super Cup when she came on as a substitute in the second half During her spell with our Club she made six appearances in which she started four matches and was included twice as a substitute Just before leaving to Denmark we talked with Heidi about her experience with our Club My adventure with the club has been indescribable The greatest adventure I ever had I felt welcome from the first day everyone did their best to make me feel at home and I couldn t have asked for more Professionality ambition and a big love is what I found with this club I m leaving Birkirkara to go back to Denmark for my studies I have my physiotherapy education there which I unfortunately could not postpone for this season Despite having spent only three months with our Club Heidi integrated well with her new team mates and she told us I have not only earned new team mates but great friends memories and experiences Sweat laughs tears bruises and smiles have been shared with these girls They truly made an impact on my life She went on by saying My time with Birkirkara also introduced me to a new coach a different style different tactic and a different language in sessions but he taught me so much He pushed me in the right way focusing on my good

    Women s Team to face Pembroke Athleta by Ayrton Galea 17th November 2015 Birkirkara FC Women s Team will be seeking to build on their momentum of three consecutive victories when they face Pembroke Athleta this evening as the second round of the BOV Women s First Division League gets underway The Stripes had a great performance in their last match to outclass Mgarr United with a 5 1 score to end their first round commitments in class This victory was the third consecutive one following a 2 1 victory over Raiders and a 5 0 victory over Kirkop United Birkirkara are in the second place with twelve points three under leaders Hibernians and five points over Mgarr United While the Stripes will take on Pembroke Hibernians will be involved in a tricky encounter against Raiders On the other hand Pembroke Athleta are anchored at the bottom of the table with just one point from the opening five matches They lost the opening three matches to Birkirkara Kirkop United and Mgarr United respectively but earned their first point in a 1 1 draw against Raiders However they were heavily defeated by Hibernians in their last outing with their biggest defeat
