    2015 Birkirkara FC Women s Team will lift the curtains on the 2015 2016 season this evening when in the BOV Women s Super Cup Final they will play against champions Hibernians FC The Stripes are considered to start as the underdogs in this match as they are going through a transition period having appointed Mr Jean Pierre Portanier as the new coach this summer However they were one of the most active teams by signing new four players Isabelle Mazzitelli is back for the Stripes on a permanent move while Oriana Bedingfield joined our Club on loan from Kirkop United The Stripes also acquired the service of two foreigners Heidi Kjaer and Catherine Campbell e On the other hand Hibernians are in a buoyant mood following a successful season in which they won all honour in Women s football and wrote a new page in Maltese Football by winning the first point in the UEFA Women s Champions League thanks to a 3 3 draw Birkirkara will have to wait for last minute fitness tests to confirm the availability of Alishia Sultana Kim Parnis Kirstie Vella Maryrose Cardona and Raina Giusti who all are recovering from different injuries Club

    Birkirkara FC by Ayrton Galea 21st September 2015 Birkirkara FC Women s Team completed another important signing in their aspirations of confirming their position of one of the elite teams on our island when just a few moments ago English midfielder Catherine Campbell has joined our Club Catherine who started training with us last week is a twenty one year old midfielder who was playing last for AFC Wimbledon following a successful spell with Oxford Ladies FC of two seasons We talked with Catherine following signing with our Club and she started by explaining her decision I joined Birkirkara because of the outstanding football they play I was looking for a good club with a high standard This is the first spell for Campbell outside England and we have asked her on the first impressions of Maltese Women s football level I believe Maltese football is of a very high standard The training is very frequent and intense which motivates me more than anything Despite she has started training just one week ago her new team mates quickly helped her settle in the team and she recognises their effort as she told us The girls were incredibly friendly and welcoming

    s register perfect start by Ayrton Galea 20th September 2015 5 Birkirkara FC Girls U16 League Gharghur Grounds 20 09 2015 10 00 Show all matches 1 Zebbug Rangers FC Birkirkara FC Girls Under 16 s Team registered the perfect start in the Girls Under 16 s League when with a very satisfactory display they defeated Zebbug Rangers with a comfortable 5 1 score thanks to a brace by Sarah Urpani and a goal each by Samantha Zarb Michela Felice and Mariah Sciberras Under the new guidance of Coach Kelly Agius Pace the Stripes built a two goal lead in the first half and added another three goals in the second twenty five minutes before Zebbug pulled one back as a consolation goal Birkirkara started aggressive and they produced a number of good opportunities before surging ahead on the fourteenth minute Sarah Urpani won possession on the left flank and had a powerful shot hitting past the goalkeeper to put the Stripes ahead The Stripes doubled their lead just before half time It was Sarah Urpani once again who proved her ability of shooting when she hit another fine shot that gave the Zebbug goalkeeper no chance to score the second goal at the perfect time Birkirkara started the second half brightly and they made them three five minutes inside the second half Samantha Zarb received the ball on the right and the technical player had a fine shot ending at the back of the net Three became four fourty seconds later It was an excellent solo run by Mariah Sciberras who raced forward on the right flank before her accurate low cross found Michela Felice who showed great skills to dribble past her marker and slot home from close range The Stripes added their fifth on the thirty eighth

    Heidi Kjaer Fourth signing for the Birkirkara FC Women s Team by Ayrton Galea 16th September 2015 Birkirkara FC Women s Team remained one of the most active Clubs before the start of the 2015 2016 season when just a few moments ago they completed the fourth signing when Danish striker Heidi Kjaer joined our Club Heidi who has been training with our Club for the last weeks is a twenty four year old striker who was last playing for Taarnby FF in the Danish League She also enjoyed positive spells at Hellas BK Holbaek B I and Asnaes BK before joining Taarnby in February 2014 We spoke with Heidi and she explained how she got to our Club I was given the opportunity through a friend from my studies here He got me in touch with the team and as from the first session I was so happy with the team She added I am expecting to push myself to a new level and learn from a different style of playing For me it s also about improving my weak sides As for the club I am expecting to learn something of the football culture here at Malta Coming

    s Team completed their third signing for season 2015 2016 when just a few moments ago Melania Bajada joined our Club on a one year loan from Gozo FC Last season she won a regular place in the heart of the midfield department and the Gozitian player joined our Club on loan for the second year running and we talked to her about this decision The twenty six year old creative midfielder opened by saying I chose Birkirkara FC again for several reasons I think that the biggest reason was that I felt really well with the players and that s what I call a team I really like the atmosphere in Birkirkara and I believe that when you re happy at a Club you give your utmost effort During last season Melania played twenty two matches and scored three goals She said I think that I had a good season last year with Birkirkara I always managed to keep my place and as time went by I felt more comfortable with the team We talked with Melania about the team s targets As a team the target of Birkirkara FC is always the same to challenge for every honour

    despite the disappointing start in the 2015 2016 season The Club s president said this during last Monday s Press Conference Before addressing the press conference the Club s president opened by thanking all journalist for accepting their invite but before he had to thank the following All the Club s members that today for the first time in history our Club have over 1000 Club Members and now cope with 1300 members A particular thank you to those who wished to help further extra our Club and more than 5 joined as Gold Members All the Committee members that throughout the last three high intensive months there wasn t a day that they brought the interest of the Club first in the list without reservations without time without condition without money bar the satisfaction of when were went out proud in front of Malta and even in front of Europe or in the disappointments like Saturday The Supporters Sub Committee who aren t only a source of hard work without break by the activities that get us together and their initiative of raising funds but among all the continuous morale support that encourages you and renews your energy Mr Joseph Zammit that true got down from the helm of president but his work didn t stop and his help remains a silent yet a price less one The Academy that remains the biggest source of players for the Senior Team and that we will continue and even increase our investment in the Academy I would like to thank the Chairman and all the committee of the academy for all their hard work Dr Delia explained the main highlights of the work of the committee over the past weeks which included the acquisition of a property next to the old
