  • Do Less = Do More. the Art of Being Creative + Productive | Chase Jarvis Blog
by 30 minute Breaks and in the middle of my day a 2 hour lunch I know some of you just spit your coffee out But you read that right I take a 2 hour lunch to get a long run or workout in eat and read from a book or write a few lines in my journal During the 30 minute breaks I read clean walk to the post office and complete those little once distracting tasks that now actually kill two birds with one stone Sometimes if I didn t get enough sleep the night before I ll even knock off for a cat nap Here s a snapshot of my day which I have printed out and laminated so I can use a dry erase marker for daily tasks and to dos Download the Daily Schedule PDF I schedule a total of four 90 minute work blocks in my day Since implementing my Daily Schedule I find that my productivity is nearly 4x what it was before especially when I stay disciplined and most importantly when I get a full night s sleep Which for me is at least 7 1 2 hours When you step back from it I m essentially in the office for 9 hours a day from 7 30 4 30 I ll usually keep plugging until 5 out of respect but by the time I punch out I m no wearier that I was when I punched in and I step away from my desk with a the clear conscience of one who has knocked out some serious work Even better I find myself going to bed at night genuinely looking forward to work the next day Sure it s no Timothy Ferriss 4 hour Workweek but it s working towards it And it s respecting my body s physiological need for regular breaks a full night s sleep and daily physical activity So that s it in a nutshell I d write more but the dryer buzzer just went off I lied A final word about the two hour lunch because it sometimes does feel indulgent As justification I leave you with the daily schedule of one of America s most productive men Benjamin Franklin Other interesting related reads here on my blog 12 Secrets for Unlocking Your Most Creative Work My Morning Routine 6 Things I Do Almost Every Day That Make for A Happy Productive Day cjRAW 07 10 Things Every Creative Person That s YOU Must Learn How To Reboot Refresh Refocus Your Creativity The Fine Art of the Sabbatical Previous Article Photo Geek Alert The Camera Sensor as Emulsion Why Your Digital Camera is More Like Film Stock Than You Realize Next Article Photo Kickstarter o the Week The Supraflux Video Camera Stabilizer with Brake Comments are closed Stay Informed About Our Upcoming Episodes gear i use have a look people you should know I am a director too my favorite place campaigns Popular Latest Tags My

not counting on it They got scared of me when I started using iPhones and Canon s to shoot video Golden boy to Anarchist If you haven t seen the pictures of it she s very very similar to the D800 but check out images of the camera below in case you want to get an idea of what you re in for The question I m asked every time a new camera comes out Chase are you getting this camera My answer in this case is no But not that I wouldn t want it It just can t replace my D4 It would be great wildlife or portrait shooter but I do too much high speed action and need that 10 or 11 Fps I also don t need to chop up my sensor to get 36 megapixels But I see why some people would love it So that s all for me on this quick hit You asked so I posted LMK what y all think first impressions feelings and I ll try to respond Reminder that Nikon plays close attention to this blog so your comments on this post glowing or otherwise might help inform Nikon about what you re thinking Get all the juicy Nikon D810 updates and or pre order over at Adorama Other interesting related reads here on my blog Nikon D800 Camera is Here What do YOU Think Nikon D600 Camera is Here It s FULL FRAME but What Do YOU Think Nikon D4 Camera Is Here Hands on with My Favorite Still Photography Camera Previous Article Let s Hang Out WIN a Meeting with Me 500 in Camera Gear 2 Classes from CreativeLive Next Article How to Turn No Into Yes Get What You Want An Essential Strategy That Will Get YOU Hired Comments are closed Stay Informed About Our Upcoming Episodes gear i use have a look people you should know I am a director too my favorite place campaigns Popular Latest Tags My Morning Routine 6 Things I Do Almost Every Day That Make for A Happy Productive Day cjRAW 07 October 22 2015 0 Comments JOIN ME in a Project the ONE THING that can CHANGE YOUR LIFE THE MOST February 1 2016 0 Comments Here s How I GET SHIT DONE hint BUSY isn t success it s a lack of priority January 28 2016 0 Comments Time for some CHANGES around here January 15 2016 0 Comments My New Camera Has ARRIVED and it can SEE IN THE DARK January 8 2016 0 Comments Are You CRUSHING Your Creativity February 12 2016 0 Comments JOIN ME in a Project the ONE THING that can CHANGE YOUR LIFE THE MOST February 1 2016 0 Comments Here s How I GET SHIT DONE hint BUSY isn t success it s a lack of priority January 28 2016 0 Comments Time for some CHANGES around here January 15 2016 0 Comments My New Camera Has ARRIVED and it can

  • Nikon D4s Unboxing Video + Initial Thoughts by Chase Jarvis | Chase Jarvis Blog
1080p video at 60p That s right slow motion has finally come to the Nikon flagship At freakin last Also if you shoot timelapses the maximum shot count has gone up to 9999 from 999 and there s a new smoothing feature for you as well I don t even know what that means but I m told it s an improvement Let s just go with it If you were hoping that Nikon would ditch the XQD slot for another CF or even an SD slot you re out of luck the XQD slot is still there One bit of good news with regard to storage though you can now record video to internal storage while at the same time capturing it via HDMI to an external recorder something that wasn t possible earlier So there you have it These are the tweaks that caught my eye there are as I said in the video above a handful of others The guys at DPReview do the whole multi page review shebang so you should really check out their definitive review I m just a 15 year pro with a passion for great cameras not a lab geek Those guys can really get under the hood Hopefully a combo of their detail and my gut and experience is a balance that helps you decide if this upgrade is a worthy one for your hard earned coin Final thoughts this thing is every bit as solid as Nikon s other flagships I like it when cameras get upgrades This is not a revolutionary update the s series don t fall into that category but it s a solid update nonetheless The internal improvements make it even more useful to speed junkies and videographers and the insanely high ISO will continue to make it even more appealing to photojournalists and the other little changes like the battery buffer and RAW size improvements are quite welcome too I am adding 2x of these to my gear bags and relinquishing their predecessors to the camera heavens actually to the used market As always thanks for watching and head to Adorama here for more info And feel free to add your thoughts about what you saw in the comments below on my Facebook page Twitter or Google Other interesting related reads here on my blog Nikon Df Unboxing Video Test Images First Impressions While Actually Shooting Photos gasp Nikon D810 Sharing My Initial Thoughts as Nikon Improves an Already Solid Camera Hands On Camera Review with the Panasonic GH3 Side By Side Comparos Can it Beat a 250 eBay Bargain 5 Crucial Thoughts on the New Nikon Df Does It Deliver Previous Article The KEY Characteristic Shared by All The Most Creative People I Know And It Can Be Yours Too Next Article Daring Greatly to Unlock Your Creativity with Brené Brown on cjLIVE Wed April 9 10am PT 1pm ET Comments are closed Stay Informed About Our Upcoming Episodes gear i use have a
