in 90 degree heat Teacher Lindsay Sage started out with the very basic moves and eventually moved to more advanced poses half moon anyone Students at all levels definitely got something out of the session though I d suggest beginners take a few very basic classes on their own to learn the breathing techniques and body positioning The pacing and the poses were perfect for me a few years ago I did yoga regularly but haven t been practicing as of late Technique aside it was an amazing experience It was hot as a sauna but we were surrounded by nature sounds cicadas buzzing birds singing and were treated to the occasional breeze Children played nearby and a few people practiced juggling A young couple sat and watched our class nuring their baby Lying on our backs and looking up at the clouds as well as the illumintaed monument once the sun set was very meditative Sage hopes to continue her free Tuesday classes into October Bring your mat and check it out We were briefly interrupted by a fully naked man lying on the grass shouting obscenities until 5 cop cars drove up onto the grass and took him away Ahh Brooklyn This entry was posted in deals fort greene nature on August 20 2009 by lesterhead Staying Healthy Leave a reply CH resident and holistic health counselor Elizabeth Lamb recently emailed me to extend a 20 discount on her services to CHB readers I am a dedicated reader of the Clinton Hill blog and would like to offer a 20 discount to fellow readers residents of the neighborhood I moved to Fort Greene two years ago from the Financial District and I ve been overwhelmed by the friendliness of my neighbors and the sense of community here I m a holistic health counselor and focus on simple practical and inexpensive ways to get and stay healthy I help people to lose weight manage stress and improve their overall health and wellbeing You can read more about me on my website www dandelionhealth com This entry was posted in deals services on August 13 2009 by lesterhead Local Pet Photographer Offering Neighborhood Discounts 5 Replies As the owner of a small dog I am a sucker for all things pet related and have not hidden this from our readers So of course when local pet photographer Scott Gordon emailed me about his very reasonably priced pet portrait services I jumped at the chance to take Marshmallow in for a session A chatty amicable guy Scott was exceedingly patient with Mallow who refused to sit still for most of the time She s deaf which makes it difficult to tell her to stay When he saw that she needed a break he took us on short strolls through his apartment and introduced us to his own dog Tibet a large friendly mutt who loves to play Scott a native New Yorker has lived in Clinton Hill for 15 years Originally

on CHB Reviews Dino katie July 18 2010 at 9 53 am I m so glad you did a post for Dino My husband and I went for dinner a few nights ago and we were so happy Great food reasonable prices and nice portions Loved the zucchini soup and the rigatoni pasta Everything was well seasoned the staff was friendly and our experience was overall very pleasant Will definitely return soon Log in to Reply GrandAve July 19 2010 at 4 29 pm We ve been twice already and love it Loulou was our neighborhood spot and I m really happy that the space is home to another restaurant that has good food reasonable prices and nice owners I wish Dino lots of success Log in to Reply Sunny July 26 2010 at 4 29 pm I have heard from a few people who s opinion on food I trust that it was just OK I was told the Squid in pasta was served with a tomato sauce so you lose the flavor of the squid ink pasta The were another dish I was told that Ravioli with fresh lemon and parm was just sitting in tons of butter I have seen the menu and it looks tasty I will have to give it a try cause there is nothing more that I like then a good neighborhood restaurant I miss Lou Lou that spot was great and their food was consistently good The new spots interior I hear is amazing and will try it out soon and I hope to have a better review and hope that my friends just had a rare unfortunate evening there I look forward to posting something this weekend Log in to Reply D August 2 2010 at 2 53 pm food was good service was too cool for school cold and not exactly friendly Log in to Reply FortGreeneFoodies May 13 2011 at 2 19 pm Dino has a great atmosphere but the food is just plain awful Just recently had pasta that was really really soggy shocking for an Italian place We returned the pasta and requested al dente but they looked at us like we had 6 heads then brought back the same plates 3 minutes later microwaved and passed it off as newly made yuk My date had the trout that was like rubber she said you could throw it on the wall and it would bounce right back at you Not to mention that the 35 bottle of red was way too sweet and gave our whole table of 4 a headache for the entire evening This is the worst restaurant in the neighborhood for food There are too many great restaurants on that block alone that cater to Brooklyn foodies No need to give this place any consideration when you have ICI Kif and Oscar that all have passed the test of time quality Given how picky Fort Green eaters are I d be shocked if Dino
