that allow you to learn and adapt that learning to what you re doing No project ever fails it just suffers from a lack of planning and is also an opportunity to learn By being persistent you learn from every opportunity How does this one word impact what you do or want to do with your life When I remind myself to be persistent it s often accompanied by a why statement eg Why I ll just mess up again By being persistent I look back and remind myself of why it is that I do what I do I look back and see all the people I ve influenced all the people who more importantly have influenced me I think of the fun I ve had that s come from the times I ve completely screwed up in almost unimaginable ways I m always reminded that things always get better I just have to keep trying What has this word done for you so far By being persistent I ve managed to help spearhead a radical change in Portland s kink community Instead of just one or two groups putting on occasional events I ve helped convince everyone that they can be an event organizer Whereas 3 years ago there were only about three to five events parties educational demos etc per month there s now often three to five events per week sometimes even per day By being persistent I set the stage for my current project the PDX League of Gentlemen which is a group dedicated to building better men as well as better male dominants Hi I m Greg For the past 17 years I ve been a kink friendly sex positive advocate in Tulsa Oklahoma and recently Portland Oregon For me perseverance means always being

  • Shelly Cole on Resiliency
gracefully than others and there is no doubt that trials change us stretch us help us grow but in the majority of cases people continue to live in sometimes unbelievable circumstances How does this one word impact what you do or want to do with your life I wrote a paper in college about resiliency for a sociology class I took on juvenile delinquency I studied multiple cases of youth recovering from seemingly insurmountable trials that generally were no fault of their own It helped me understand that in our personal lives we need never abandon hope We can handle much more than we think and it serves us well to remind not only ourselves but loved ones in times of trial Understanding resiliency motivates me to be the voice of encouragement when those I care for feel they are in seemingly hopeless circumstances What has this word done for you so far I think I covered this somewhat in the paragraph above but resiliency is a word of strength and encouragement Sometimes it s hard to feel it when you re right smack in the middle of a problem and don t see a way out but I always know I can think back on past challenges and know that since I recovered fine from those I ll likely do the same this time around I don t have any social media links for Shelly at this time but if you have any questions or comments I ll be sure to let her know You can browse all published Distillery posts here Your Distilled Thoughts How resilient would you say you are How do you encourage those you care about when they are overwhelmed TWICs XIII Motor Mounts Progress Posted in collaboration community Distillery Tagged with collaboration community distillery

  • Robin Cangie on Love | DR1665
you fill your heart with unconditional love for all that is in existence you free yourself from the negative emotions expectations and desires that stem from wishing reality were somehow different than it is You are free to accept that you have no idea what s going to happen that you haven t got it all figured out and therefore you are free become what you are and to explore the richness of your own potential whatever form it may take How does this one word impact what you do or want to do with your life There s no one thing I can point to really Simply put I try to just allow love to underpin the way that I live and let this inform the actions I take and the paths that I choose It s very hard and usually I fail but it does help to allow for the possibility of a more compassionate and lighter way of being in this world which I hope can positively influence others ways of being too and maybe help them to think about things in a way that s more productive and useful than getting caught up inside of egos wants and drives I m just as guilty of this as anyone What has this word done for you so far Mostly it has helped me open to life and the full rich spectrum of experience it has to offer I m certainly far from perfect at this but when I remember to approach all things from a place of love even the hard and ugly things it helps remind me why I m here on this earth why I do what I do and where the truly important work is In short it gives me a place from which

them Put a tool in his hand and he delivers on levels to which every everyman aspires Including the page Some of the most thoughtful well written text based automotive craftsmanship I ve come across in recent years is by his hand And yet inasmuch as I get the feeling he would like to do more writing the industry has left such a bad taste in his mouth he just doesn t want to be guilty by association So it s no surprise and yet totally a surprise to see Kristian s word is don t It makes total sense to anyone who knows him but I think it s a powerful reminder of something we often find ourselves omitting from our lives If you could distill everything you ve learned so far into a single word of advice to yourself what would that one word be Don t Why does this one word mean so much to you Too often I have when I shouldn t have I haven t said no with nearly enough conviction or frequency in the last 20 years How does this one word impact what you do or want to do with your life
