  • Raider Vac Lines | DR1665
to see things connected or at least blocked off Especially considering how the truck isn t the smoothest running machine on the road This yellow striped line wasn t connected to anything I ve since connected it to a barb on the bottom of the far side of the air filter box I m not entirely sure where this one is supposed to go yet but I removed the screw and connected it to the solenoid on the device box on the driver s side of the engine bay Here s a picture of the device box Note the open barb on the solenoid lower left corner I still don t know where this shortie is supposed to go Three capped vacuum fittings on the carby No idea I still need to consult the FSM Turns out there s supposed to be vacuum on that cap on the right The leads on the little thermo switch just under the upper radiator hose however are missing I was able to figure out where a couple of these go so here s a golf clap Starting to Get Old 464 Rebuild Report Wrapping Things Up Posted in Pajero Tagged with 4G54 fuel

  • ISC/FIAV Delete + TPS Adjustment | DR1665
Nice thing about OBDI cars this doesn t trip a CEL So I took a spare TB to Keith s shop opened it up with an impact driver the machine screws holding it all together have threadlocker on them and are made of butter then cleaned it up in the parts washer I made a block off gasket by cutting my own blank from bulk gasket material I had in the garage No need to get medieval with metal plates given the low temps seen by the TB I also removed the little metal springy thingy inside the FIAV ISC ports within With the TB ready to be installed I got the old TB out pull the vacuum lines on top of the TB disconnect the ISC and throttle stop switch disconnect TPS remove small Philips bracket screw atop TB disconnect intake hose at TB elbow shove downward disconnect plug TB coolant lines drain some coolant or expect a leak unbolt throttle cable from intake manifold 10mm pull slack in throttle cable toward passenger side slip cable from TB arm undo 12mm nut on CAS undo 12mm bolts on front of TB remove TB CAS bracket undo 12mm nuts on rear of TB set aside remove TB elbow try to save the gasket or replace slide TB away from intake manifold lift fuel line OVER base of TB drop TB down rotate toward firewall lift up and out Here s another picture Re assembly is the reverse but you will want to bypass those coolant lines I found the hose that ran from the thermostat housing to the TB was plenty long enough to simply attach to the water pipe below the TB the other line removed in the process above You an see the coolant hose I re used

Sensationalist headlines draw readers to paraphrased briefs of little substance and keeping those eyeballs on the site demands the creation or as seems more common in the automotive media curation of large volumes of news stories Why these stories are meaningful and how they constitute news takes a backseat to almighty SEO resulting in a landscape of what what and more what Why are auto journos days numbered What is data pure and simple Data is the domain of the machines The Big Ten Network began using the technology in the spring of 2010 for short recaps of baseball and softball games They were posted on the network s Web site within a minute or two of the end of each game box scores and play by play data were used to generate the brief articles Previously the network relied on online summaries provided by university sports offices NYT linked below What s more according to the article Clients pay Narrative Science less than 10 for each article of about 500 words and the price will very likely decline over time Even at 10 the cost is far less by industry estimates than the average cost per article of local online news ventures like AOL s Patch or answer sites like those run by Demand Media NYT linked below As the machines get better and faster at turning data into simple news stories supply will outstrip demand driving the value of articles ever lower Maybe sourcing articles will become more like buying pay per click advertising this story is worth a couple cents that one a couple more this one is worth a whole dollar How are legitimate automotive journalists going to make ends meet in market like that Practice REAL AUTHENTIC JOURNALISM Where these computer generated articles fall short it seems is context The human element of journalism is the ability to provide context color beyond the black and white realm of ones and zeros meaning Computers can t tell you why or who only what SkyNet has no emotions It does not care one way or the other which team wins what new model was just released or the implications of Bob Lutz s on again off again relationship with GM Everything is reduced to a number and processes accordingly Journalism on the other hand adds value to the data by informing the reader why the home team won how the new model feels compared to its predecessor or how the return of Maximum Lutz stands to impact the future of the auto industry How will this impact digital automotive media From where I m sitting the bulk of the content passing as news these days is merely rehashed press releases or otherwise part of a concerted effort to draw in UVs unique visitors to keep the advertising money coming in every month This is not journalism as much as it is hucksterism A quick 300 words and stock photo which ends with You can read the full

a difference Profit is the result of making a difference They say you need to build an audience and monetize with advertising I say ads suck Nobody likes ads We ll monetize without ads thankyouverymuch We ll make a difference They say it can t be done Penmanshift isn t quite finished I mean it s pretty much complete it s just not perfect yet There s a lot riding on this one Will our beta testers tell us we kept the promises we made up front Will they tell us it s something they could see themselves paying for Will we be able to polish and market it to actual paying customers They say you can t have your cake eat it too Will our day jobs get in the way of delivering the level of service we want this program known for delivering Will this get in the way of Gearbox How am I going to keep all these plates spinning into the foreseeable future Terrifying but getting done anyway They can jog on It s hard stepping away from the warmth of the campfire and the comfort of familiar stories told round it over hot cocoa and s mores but adventure lies in the dark woods beyond And adventure is the stuff of new stories We have the tools we need to succeed and I will not be alone in this next adventure So long as I believe we will be successful and I am willing to do whatever it takes to deliver on our promises we will succeed Going beyond Too many of us are bound by golden handcuffs locked into ideas we don t believe in beyond the comfort of predictable income I d rather scrape by doing something I love with a limited number

  • My Sean Connery Conflict | DR1665
smooth but he brings a certain unrefined grittiness to the character which I feel has been missing for some time In just two films I have had my faith in Bond renewed There is so much to think about Some would argue it s stupid to sort of start things over again but the previews before the movie show they re doing the same thing for Star Trek and even that looks good now with the benefit of proper special effects Think about how thus far Craig s Bond hasn t really cared about his trademark drink When asked if he preferred it shaken or stirred in Casino Royale he didn t care He did comment about naming it the Vesper after Vesper Lynd whose name doesn t even appear to be an innuendo but he refuses to call it so in Quantum of Solace despite the bartender pointing out that he s just finished six of them Bond always orders this special martini Consider it a reminder of Vesper going all the way back to well before Dr No It almost gives me goose bumps to think of it like that Mr White does the hokey pokey And now with the credits rolling on Quantum of Solace we know that Mr White is still at large and that he s part of a secret society of powerful men with aspirations for world domination You might say they are a special executive dealing in counter intelligence terrorism revenge and extortion in fact There appears a budding trust developing between Bond and Felix Leiter of the CIA who has just been promoted Even further aside from one heck of a nice cell phone product placement although not as bad as the blatant Ford use this time out Craig s Bond is definitely on the short end of the stick when it comes to goodies from Q Branch As a keyboard rallyist I love seeing fast cars on less than paved surfaces but the DB7 didn t even have bullet proof glass this time out The history of James Bond is rich with exotic locations fast cars faster women and an exclusive roster of distinguished gentlemen who have brought it all together to provide us with a hero in which we can believe He has the latest gadgets he drives the best cars saves the world gets the girl and manages to do it all with aplomb and a fabulous sense of humor He s traversed the world been to every city that mattered and some that didn t to the bottom of the sea and to mountain peaks from the desert to the rainforest and we ve been along for the ride every time It s a brilliant franchise and now I feel that Daniel Craig is poised to take us to a place where Bond has never allowed us to go inside His Bond is lean and hungry He is the blunt instrument M mentions but he is getting sharper
