heard about the dvds out there that used to promise they could make your babies smarter and most of us have at least one of them Did you know that the leading baby dvd company had to stop making that claim because there was no proof eebee s adventures dvd s are not intended to teach your baby to be a genius Actually from what I can tell the dvd s are more for parents and children together The scenarios shown on the dvd s take everyday life situations no jumping dolphins or scenes of nature with Mozart in the background here and show both parents and baby how to make these situations fun learning activity All In A Day s Play is broken down into 3 adventures Laundry List fun with a laundry basket Just You Me playing with baby without any fancy toys and Little Objects Big Ideas how items in the house like bowls or pots can be opportunities for play Nevaeh was mildly interested in this dvd I think because it didn t feature the babies as much as the other ones and she loves watching other children Figuring Things Out focuses more on the fun and adventures baby can have once she is mobile Again this dvd has 3 adventures The Light Bulb Goes On lights on and off tracking a light and shadows Blocks Tackling Ideas stacking and crashing cups you get the idea and On the Go mountain of pillows up over and under Nevaeh really liked this one and responded most to the other babies she saw on the screen I especially liked the music on this one We re Going on an Adventure like all the other songs are originals and guess what no classical music either Exploring Real Stuff will

can bring to a life I review a lot of kid products but haven t seen books like this with so much interaction What other books can your kiddo play catch with The first item for review is the Peek A Boo Adventure Book The book is geared for ages 9 months and up It s a fun little fabric book from the start with eebee hiding behind some curtains that your child can move to reveal a happy little face There are opportunities to manipulate different objects on every page from lifting the scarf to opening the vinyl raincoat sliding a ball picking up a hat moving soft blocks to moving eebee in and out of a mesh tunnel Unfortunately I don t know if words can convey how interactive this book is Your little one is moving and manipulating with every page This book received the Parents Choice award Fall 2008 in the Doing and Learning category It retails for 14 95 This would be great for the little one who likes Peek A Boo or A BOO as Zhana calls it When I sat down with my daughter and looked at this book I was very impressed as the giggles kept coming Next up is the eebee adventures Have a Ball Book This book is recommended for ages 9 months and up On the cover eebee is holding a ball with velcro and a string attached Througout the book the ball goes through several adventures Little ones can actually play catch with eebee roll it down a slide toss it into a mesh basket hide it behind a crinkle pillow or even push it in a wagon Like the book above this one won a Fall 2008 Parents Choice award in the Doing and Learning Category It retails for 14 95 Zhana LOVED this book and thought it was so much fun Next is Laundry Time Adventures This is my daughter s favorite and mine as well I personally think this book is most appropriate for toddlers because most of them are very interested in laundry Zhana adores helping me fold laundry put it away and ect Every single page is interactive from putting towels in the washing machine to hanging the clothing out to dry Your little one will load the washer spin the washing machine hang the pj s and even put them away in drawers We only bring this book out during a special time of day laundry time As I mentioned earlier Zhana likes to help me do laundry which usually leads to much more work that if I didn t have my little helper Instead I now have her do her own laundry with her little book while I do my laundry She has enjoyed this quite a bit Finally we have BATH TIME ALL ABOUT ME SET The Bath Time book is designed to be played with in the tub You put the book in water to fill up the squirters

a session between Marielle and one of her many therapists More than once a lightbulb went off while I simultaneously was kicking myself for not thinking of some of the fun activities they demonstrated I later found their website offers at home ideas to build on what you ve seen on the DVD I have many more ideas for activities we can do together but I will likely make slight modifications using non food items interesting viewpoint on that here If I put her next to a tub of cheerios she would dive in and eat until her stomach exploded According to their website Eebee s adventures are designed to engage you and your baby with rich play experiences that provide powerful lessons that memorizing letters numbers colors and shapes simply can and do not Hey shut up I love my little party trick of a toddler Ok so maybe they re right but here lies my problem with that theory Watching another baby or a puppet dump a bowl of rice on their head is nowhere near the same experience as doing it yourself You don t feel the texture rice on your skin you don t see it scatter across the floor you don t hear your mother yelling at you that she s tired of cleaning up your messes Honestly the first time we watched it Marielle walked to the DVD player after 5 minutes hit the eject button brought it to me and requested another DVD by name Until then I didn t even know she knew how to do that Hey she s learning new stuff already Instead we got out the Eebee book Peek a boo Adventures At first glance I saw a soft book designed for a sixth month old Marielle will be
