    due to Windows having invoked one of its user account control safety features which creates a copy of parts of applications in a folder called virtualstore This works for some applications but not all Applications that rely on relative folder paths as does Solo s underlying library technology will sometimes fail To resolve the issue Go to the Start Menu and type the following in the Start Search box userprofile AppData local VirtualStore and press Enter to open the folder In the VirtualStore folder navigate to the Program Files directory and from there to the EVRI folder Delete the entire EVRI folder Note if you are running a 32 bit version of Solo in 64 bit Windows you will need to locate the Program Files x86 folder and delete the EVRI folder there ONCE run Solo as administrator right click the shortcut and say run as administrator This should resolve any issues with starting If it doesn t we ve had a user report that the following steps solved the problem 1 Search where the plstoolbox crf file is located In my case it was in C Program Files EVRI Solo application runtime win64 2 In the same folder right

    of Matlab roughly 60 days before it becomes generally available We typically will provide an update to our products within one to two weeks of the official release of new version of Matlab We also maintain at least 2 4 years backward compatibility with Matlab Often there will be some reduced functionality with oldest supported versions but especially with newer GUI tools Legacy Versions of PLS Toolbox Although we attempt to provide legacy support we do not guarantee it In general the most compatible version of Matlab will be the version available at time of release of PLS Toolbox Upgrading Matlab without upgrading PLS Toolbox can be risky especially if you re spanning more than a year s worth of upgrade This is especially true for GUI interfaces Please see our Wiki New Releases page for the specific compatibility list Maintenance Program Starting in 2006 TMW standardized it s release schedule and licensing In order to accommodate this new schedule Eigenvector had to adopt a similar schedule and licensing scheme You can read more about the licensing plan here Octave In general PLS Toolbox is not compatible with the open source Matlab clone Octave Octave is essentially a clone of

    of Matlab much easier If you have limited access and you are unfamiliar with Matlab and or Solo try installing a demo before the day of the class to familiarize yourself with the process 1 Create an account on the Eigenvector website and request a demo of latest version of Solo or PLS Toolbox This will generate a 30 day demo license code If you need a longer license period contact us at helpdesk eigenvector com For students bringing their own computers have them obtain a demo of the latest version from our webstite 2 Download the PLS Toolbox or Solo exe installer and make sure you obtain the license code either via email or from the download page 3 Copy the installer to a USB drive or CD DVD Make an additional copy on additional media In general we recommend 2 copies per person who will be installing so each person has 2 USB drives for example It can also be helpful to make a text file on each containing the license code so you can copy paste the code rather than type it 4 On the first computer copy the installer exe and license code file from the
