or he s lying But he seems sincere Have a question How is remote viewing different from regular psychic stuff The way the term Remote Viewing is designed it represents a process not a thing You technically are only remote viewing if you do psychic work within an approved RV protocol If you are doing anything else you are being psychic Which is fine it just isn t RV Many psychics learn the protocol follow it and can legitimately call themselves remote viewers Many remote viewers don t bother using the RV protocol in which case they really don t have the right to call themselves Viewers no matter what method they are using Today many psychics and people who want to be use the term Remote Viewing as if it is a generic description of clairvoyance They feel it means visual psi data about something remote from you I must admit that s exactly what the term sounds like But to the people who coined the term there were already lots of terms for being psychic They didn t need one more The Remote Viewing term was developed because what was needed was something to describe being psychic within that certain set of rules protocol So when a scientist said they had done a remote viewing experiment other scientists would know what they meant not just that it was psychic but how it was gone about something worth taking seriously It s unfortunate they chose such a descriptive term as the world instantly glommed onto it and it is now meaningless for the general public Later scientists invented the term anomalous cognition which they hoped the public would be less fond of Indeed the public is so less fond of it they ve never even heard of it Most

early 1970 s the CIA decided to fund a small research inquiry into the existence of human psychic abilities Psychic Ingo Swann participated in the first and other trials for these studies Psychic Pat Price joined the trials and eventually serious funding was provided for research A search was made for military individuals who might have RV talent and by 1978 an initial small team of Viewers was formally created to test and do operational viewing while the science would continue researching how best to support aid that viewing Each year over a 20 year span funding was renewed based on merit and often demonstration to a confidential congressional subcommittee Many government military industrial and private groups provided funding over that period of time for various reasons The program had two primary locations a small intell unit in Fort Meade MD and a science lab in Palo Alto CA There were many different names used by agencies and military for the psychic program some of which are still unknown to the public many of which are deliberately confused in time and all of which are now as a conglomerate for the public referred to as STAR GATE By 1982 the existing remote viewers had either died or left the unit except one and in 1984 the sole remaining viewer who had done the unit s intell work alone for two years retired and began working in the science lab for research and any intell targets brought him there A new crop of viewers these from Swann s training route instead of the original recruiting methods were brought into the intell unit mostly from 1985 onward to continue the work Around 1995 the program was handed to the CIA for ownership This was for a variety of reasons one apparently being

viewing different from regular psychic stuff My friend says he has an almost 100 accuracy rate Other people say that s impossible or he s lying But he seems sincere Have a question The STAR GATE scientific research of RV Dr Harold Puthoff founded the research in 1972 at SRI Stanford Research Institute now SRI International About a year later Russell Targ joined the team In 1976 Dr Ed May joined the team In 1982 Targ left SRI and in 1985 Puthoff left SRI and May became Director All the men are physicists In 1991 Dr May s Cognitive Sciences Laboratory CSL which had been working via SRI moved to SAIC Science Applications International Corporation another think tank science lab and continued funded research there until the end of 1995 when government funding ceased CSL is still an active lab doing some research but the government backing is no longer present CSL is now under the umbrella of the Laboratories for Fundamental Research LFR The first and probably easiest discovery about RV was made near the beginning that these psychic abilities existed Remote Viewing protocol evolved over time as scientists refined tightened and learned about the experimental process As time went on more was learned about how being psychic seemed to work and how data seemed to affect the people getting it Innumerable physiological and psychological tests were run on the psychics doing the data collection At times mass testing of volunteers was done Different methods of getting psychic data from traditional psychic methods to Swann s invented CRV methods which came later in the mid 80 s were tested themselves and against each other to find common denominators in what made things work what people were most likely to have ability etc The later research covered details about the

on target 1 for 1 100 accurate Since it s awfully easy to get a gestalt and be considered on target by this measure that s a pretty easy one Some schools break down every single perception provided in a session and then upon feedback compare it critically to a photograph and then they come up with accuracy s for a long list of aspects of the target e g sound color concept and an overall average from that Obviously this is drastically different than the first example and generally a much lower number over time Then there are times modern RV in science usually works this way where the session data is given to another person along with the target and four or five other photos and the judge doesn t know which is which They rank order the photos which best match the session data in their opinion Depending on the data the other photos provided and the interpreter results vary This provides a different and vastly lower accuracy number than the above per perception method most of the time and is a universe away from the first means of measure There are other ways one can attempt to break out all the data that COULD have been provided for the target vs how many perceptions in that list you provided and then your accuracy would be a of that total You can measure what was important or have the tasker ask for one specific piece of data and ignore everything else there are other options You could spend all day thinking up ways to come up with different statistics for accuracy Visit the Laboratories for Fundamental Research website www lfr org for some official info on this sort of thing After you consider the means of measure
