to jobseekers from the baby boomer generation some of their problems finding work may be related to rusty job search skills The strategies they used when they were younger probably will not be very helpful in today s technologically driven society For this reason Fox Business recently provided a few online job hunting tips for older individuals who are looking for employment opportunities No matter how old people may be if they are looking for work online they are likely browsing the listings on a job board If baby boomers truly want to find a position Rich Milgram chief executive officer of Beyond com a career network told the news source they cannot rely solely on these boards Instead they should place a focus on creating a strong personal brand One way to accomplish this is by creating an online profile on one or more social media websites such as Facebook Twitter and LinkedIn It is important for older jobseekers to not reveal too much about their age as this may influence a potential employer s decision to hire them even though age discrimination is illegal As a result Milgram recommended leaving out terms like seasoned and not listing the number of years of experience they hold If a resume is several pages long it needs to be condensed so that it only goes back 10 or 15 years The last thing baby boomer jobseekers want to do is appear intimidating to a younger hiring manager RELATED ARTICLES Monday is the best day to apply for a job Report highlights disconnect between job seekers and hiring managers Students don t have to attend top colleges to get a job More NEWS CATEGORIES IQ Test Information Kids IQ Test Information Personality Test Information Career Test Information Other Test Information Free Career
