  • GameSpy: Breaking: Activision Can't Sell Out Call of Duty XP? - Page 1
how quickly tickets for Blizzard s annual convention sell out Last year the 27 000 passes for BlizzCon were gobbled up in mere minutes No doubt parent company Activision was hoping to mirror that success with Call of Duty XP Check that given the record setting multi billion dollar sales of the CoD franchise Activision was likely expecting it But now less than two days before Call of Duty XP is set to open its doors in Los Angeles at 10 a m on Friday tickets are still readily available When Activision announced Call of Duty XP at the end of June it said it would welcome more than 6 000 fans to the event with two day passes selling for 150 all proceeds going to its Call of Duty Endowment Those passes went on sale on July 19 While the CoD XP website lists travel packages for the event as sold out general admission passes were still available for purchase on the site as of noon PST And a call to the Call of Duty XP hotline confirmed that tickets are in fact still on sale We re still trying to find out exactly how many tickets have sold and if Activision is sticking with its ambiguous more than 6 000 cap We ve contacted multiple sources at the publisher but have yet to hear back We ll update this post as soon as we do Spy Guy says Couple factors that could be playing into this 1 It s an 18 and over only event parent guardian won t get kids in so a huge percentage of the CoD fanbase isn t eligible to attend and 2 the brand is so huge people might have assumed tickets sold out immediately Regardless it s amazing to think tix are

  • GameSpy: Video Tour of Call of Duty XP - Page 1
show Opened by Dropkick Murphys closed by Kanye West and packed with all things Call of Duty in between the first CoD convention is going to be insane At least that s what Infinity Ward creative strategist Robert Bowling tells us in a video tour of Call of Duty XP A crew is currently putting the finishing touches on the indoor and outdoor CoD XP setup and the show is set to begin on Friday in Los Angeles See what attendees will get their hands on in the video below Spy Guy says As someone that enjoys a good paintball match every now and again I ve got to admit the real life version of Scrapyard looks like a paintball player s dream And stuff will get nutty when someone calls in a paintball airstrike Seriously though it appears there are still tickets available for CoD XP online as impossible as that sounds This warrants further investigation I ll keep you posted What Do You Think Latest News A Comment on Comments GameSpy Switching to Disqus Jun 15 2012 Get a Free GameSpy Banner for Your 8Realms Town Dec 6 2011 Call of Duty XP Watch the Live Stream Sep
