result of this honor though I m getting deluged with email about what I personally think was the best of the show It s a tough call Republic was fantastic and Medal of Honor was intense to be sure But for me beyond a shadow of a doubt the honor goes to World War II Extreme the first massively multiplayer tactical extreme snowboarding World War II game Sometimes mixing up game genres can be a formula for success Deus Ex borrowed just enough RPG elements to add a lot of depth to a first person action game for instance But often you just end up with a mishmash of gameplay that s simply a disaster Not so with WWII EX At first the juxtaposition of extreme sports gaming and historial combat would seem a little foreign but once you get your first Panzer airborne off of the quarter pipe it all seems to feel just fine It works A German Kubelwagen shreads some powder What you end up with is a formula for success combining the two hottest trends in the gaming industry The first game in a proposed series WWII EX focuses on the Eastern and northern Italian fronts where the Caucasus and Alps provide ripping trails and tightly packed powder for Axis and Allies alike They re promising all the action of the big one with twice as much air It s goose stepping meets goofy footing with a half pipe stretching from Stalingrad to Berlin and you ve got front row seats I can t wait Unique mission goals and objectives highlight the campaign career mode PlanetFargo is posted every Friday at GameSpy com Read the archives Fargo is an online community gaming journalist and is within a few thousand points of being the office SSX champion

of a supermodel s dirty pillows I think I could suspend my disbelief more easily if I were to play Capture The GeForce or Capture The Princess s Virginity or Capture The Jack Daniels And Steak James H Waller Well James that s an excellent question primarily because it is phrased in such a way as to include the words dirty pillows Here at PlanetFargo I won t rest until you the gaming public have gained a thorough understanding of the rich history and basis in fact that underlies each and every Capture the Flag gameplay mode Armies of the antiquity soon discovered the value of a well guarded flag To the left Heironicus informs his teammates that he s got Deeus Shortly after mankind discovered agriculture he began to fight over fertile land Primitive warfare was a confusing state of affairs and before long successful clans adopted a flag system to both rally the troops and inform them of which side they were on Trivia Early flags contained basic symbols identifyable to primitive cultures such as animals stalks of wheat or 5 1 4 floppy disks Of course the quickest way to defeat an army of antiquity on the field was to crush their standard bearer Without a flag the enemy army quickly got lost forgot who they were fighting for and were often devoured by bears Other flagless cultures built pyramids out of frustration Christian Crusaders seen here making a flag run into Jerusalem discovered the importance of good flag management The Roman empire thrived because their legions moreso than the warriors of any other ancient culture totally camped the flag It took a crafty Hun to cap on the Romans But after the fall of the empire the art of flag defense was lost for many years

skin The wheel was hot in my hand and shook with the passing of each crevice on the uneven road It was the best kind of hell A glimmer of reflected sunlight caught my eye and I glanced over the side of my speeding vehicle On either side of me the desert stretched endlessly from road to horizon the spatterings of brown scrub blurring in the distance like a pointillist painting But what had I seen Nothing was there but rock and sand wait Again a glimmer of steel Curiosity lifted my foot from the accelerator and finally amidst the rippling heat I caught some movement Something was out there No as I drove closer some one was out there Gradually the pocketa pocketa of my motor slowed as did my car Indeed there was someone there I slowed to a complete stop my ears ringing as the noise of the wind ceased At first it looked like a tank but gradually I made out the shape of a human Walking Walking toward me with a slow lumbering almost painful gait A strange hulk of metal in the distance with a big green arrow above his head Slowly and without thought I pulled my car off the road rolling unevenly over the tangled mess of dead scrub and rocky earth The figure grew bigger and bigger until he blocked the sun and his shadow spilled into the passenger compartment of my green machine What I saw before me was human only in shape Thick sheets of metal were caked with grime and dust as if begging to return to the ground from whence they came I found it hard to believe that this hulk of ancient encrusted metal was conscious much less human I reached out to touch it finding
