s Hospital there We had a house in England and in St Louis so we used to spend a lot of time in both places In your section of the albumâ s liner notes you say this stuff is pretty challenging to play again after not playing them for years On this leg of the tour are you having fun doing these songs again GB Oh absolutely Now you know them backwards so you start throwing in different things every night which is another great thing about this band Thereâ s no two shows the same now We do quite a lot of jamming in a couple of the songs Like â œVoodooâ and â œHeaven and Hell â theyâ re different every night You ll want to check this out it s a good interview  Sorry to the RFT folks for not getting this up sooner Filed Under Misc Stuff 1 Comment Comments Jane Smith says July 30 2012 at 4 58 pm I just found out that my parents my sister and I lived up the street from Mr Butler s house in the 80s Even then I thought it was a rumor why was he in

all sitting down together no drummer involved just 3 of us quietly putting together ideas We thought that when we had enough songs together for a full band rehearsal we d move back to L A and put the whole thing together with Bill Unfortunately to our surprise Bill issued a statement on his site saying he d been offered an un signable contract He hadn t told any one of us he was having contractual problems and frankly those things are worked out between our representatives and never between the four of us let alone in public We had the idea of keeping just one show in this year hoping that Tony would be well enough for that show and that things with Bill would be sorted As you may expect a one off show at Donnington Festival Download costs an absolute fortune to stage involving over 50 people transport air fares hotels meals agents promotors accountants lawyers etc so none of us expected to make much money from it it was a one off Sabbath show for the fans before we go into recording the new album Apparently this wasn t acceptable to Bill s representatives they wanted an amount that was so unrealistic that it seemed to have been a joke So we resigned ourselves to doing Download without Bill hoping he d change his mind and at least make a guest appearance We started rehearsals a few weeks ago with Tommy Cluefetos the drummer who will be on the Ozzy and Friends Tour Brilliant drummer and good bloke It was decided we d better do a warm up show to break the ice since we haven t played together live The O2 Academy was available in Birmingham where we were rehearsing so we decided on that and to make a donation to Help For Heroes Charity since we d be ironing out any glitches we may have Then Bill put out a further statement saying he d been ready to play the Birmingham show but he was expected to have to do it for free well I think that s basically how you raise money from gigs for charity you play them for free All I am saying is that there are two sides to everything I do hope to play with Bill again some day For whatever reason it wasn t meant to be this time Bill s made his decision and I have to respect that Hopefully this painful year will be worth the wait for the new Sabbath album and end in joy and happiness for all Stay frosty Geezer Filed Under Black Sabbath Geezer s Journal 197 Comments Birmingham Show Posted by Joe on May 18 2012 Hello readers Well rehearsals are finally finished and now for the nervous part playing our home town gig Since it is a warm up show there will probably be a few glitches but remember it s all in a good cause since we ll be

  • Noisecreep Interview :: The Official Geezer Butler Website
always remember he came out for the very last gig and we said Look Ronnie if you re that ill we ll just blow the gig And he said No I m not gonna blow the gig And he was literally doubled up in pain And he just made himself go on He totally refused to cancel the show So he went on and we thought Oh God what s gonna happen None of us ever thought cancer we just thought it was a severe stomach bug And then at this time last year just after Halloween he went in and got the report it was cancer It was just one of those things you don t expect to happen In August you played a final Heaven Hell show as a benefit for Ronnie with vocalists Glenn Hughes and Jorn Lande Was that a bittersweet experience It was really weird doing Heaven Hell stuff without Ronnie being there It was really strange It was sort of great in one way and then really sad in another way So yeah it really was bittersweet It was supposed to be an original Heaven Hell gig And the promoter said If you do it as a tribute to Ronnie I ll pay the same amount of money into the Dio charity That made sense to us And if it makes people more aware of cancer and encourages them to get checked out and stuff it was for a good cause It s one of those things you feel strange talking about After Ronnie died did it take away some of your zeal for music Did everything remind you of him You just realize that if it can happen to him it can happen to you any day It hasn t really changed me It can t change you because you still have to live your own life and carry on as before as much as you can But it did take a while to get back into the music again I didn t even go into my home studio I started writing again about three months ago I didn t want to hear anything before that I didn t even really want to watch this DVD It was just too close I m just gradually getting back into it and hope something will come out of it There have been reports about another Black Sabbath tour with Ozzy Osbourne Is that going to happen in 2011 I have no idea what s happening with that It s not going to happen next year Ozzy s on tour with his own band for the next year or whatever The idea of doing another Sabbath tour always comes up It s just something that s always talked about and there if we want to do it It s sort of really early days though I m sure Ozzy will say yes and no every week for the next year while he s on tour It
