  • Heaven & Hell Tribute Concert Announced :: The Official Geezer Butler Website
far too great to call it an end 7th angel says June 20 2010 at 7 16 am i dont see the talent from glen hughes give me tony martin Matt Bodossian says June 22 2010 at 12 15 am I agree with Xande sabbath is far too great of a band to call it an end The passing of Ronnie was terrible and sabbath will never be the same without him but the remaining members are just as amazing and it still my dream to see them play live Geezer you are a great man and bass player and have influenced me greatly Please carry on Dio s legacy R I P Ronnie James Dio KELLY HAVIS says June 25 2010 at 9 46 am IN HONOR OF DIO LET HEAVEN AND HELL REST THEY CAN PUT OUT MATERIAL THAT IS FINISHED ENOUGH TO PUT OUT OF DIO S BUT THEY SHOULD NOT TRY TO REPLACE HIM NOT EVEN WITH MARTIN DIO AND OZZY WERE AND ARE BLACK SABBATH OSCAR says June 25 2010 at 6 53 pm Derrick LeFevre Lillian Axe is a good singer for Sabbath What about him singing Johnny Blade Sabbath Bloody Sabbath The Writ You won t change me Hard life to love Wishing well etc Why do Sabbath waste this material How many bands would sell their soul for songs like these Steve d says June 26 2010 at 8 30 am Some of the posted comments are tough Due to legal reasons their has been a clear seperation of who is Black Sabbath Ronnie sure fit Gillian didnt and some of the other singers may or may have not Ronnie was Sabbath as much as Ozzy but their was a clear difference a good one like Van Halen with Sammy or Dave both good that shouldnt be compared I see the band working with Ozzy in the future as Sabbath but cringe to think of Ozzy taking on Dio classics like Neon Knights Wishing Well or Die Young to name a few I believe the band Heaven and Hell has a lot of gas left but shouldnt become a tribute band Somewhere their has to be a singer that can do Ronnies songs with Tony Geezer and Vinny with a high degree of respect and also with song writing abilities to take the energy forward At this point as a fan I agree that the only true Black Sabbath left to tour Is with Ozzy but am hungry for more and I think Tony and Geezer are far from being done Sabbath with Ozzy was classic but something seems to be going stale Sabbath with Dio timeless still fresh how can one not appreciate the Heaven and Hell record 25 years after the fact and the bands last tours reflect what us getting older metal heads want Geezer I hope you Tony and Vinny find a way to keep working with each other Ronnie can never be replaced but hopefully something respectful

  • My Statement on Ronald :: The Official Geezer Butler Website
My condolences to you Gloria and your Heaven and Hell bandmates I read RJD interviews in which he described what a close relationship he and Wendy had with you and Gloria back in the early 80s Professionally Heaven and Hell Mob Rules and Dehumanizer were great albums Thus I always thought what a shame both personally and professionally were the breakups after Live Evil and after Dehumanizer For years I was hoping for a reunion and thus I was so happy when you reunited for Dehumanizer only to be disappointed when that ended This most recent incarnation as Heaven and Hell seemed to erase all the wrongs of the past I was very happy to have the opportunity to see the band in concert for the first and last time in Hamilton Ontario Personally and professionally it seemed like Heaven and Hell couldn t be stronger I am sorry it had to end so soon but on the other hand I m glad that all the past bad feelings following Live Evil and Dehumanizer seemed to have been erased by the wonderful chemistry in the band On a personal note I m glad that the great bond which existed between Ronnie and you and Wendy and Gloria was reestablished It s unfortunate it had to end this way with so much pain for RJD but it seemed like all the bad things which had previously happened had been righted CostasJD says May 27 2010 at 12 55 am Dear Geezer Thank you for this beautiful statement I know it comes from your heart and also know how hard it must have been to put these feelings into words I have attended your concert in Athens during your last tour and it will be the greatest musical memory in my life I mean I feel blessed I was able to listen to Ronnie s heavenly voice along with your exquisite music I know he went to a better place I have just lost a dear friend from the same disease and I can share some of your sadness There will be no one like him but his memory and voice an angel s voice indeed will stay with us forever God bless you all for expressing with your music what we want to say with mere words R I P Ronnie Jason Rubin says May 27 2010 at 11 50 am No doubt your friendship was extremely important to Ronnie and a great comfort in his final weeks and days In the 30 year span in which you two worked together there were highs and lows but the proof is in the pudding Dio Iommi Butler and Appice Ward were a uniquely powerful combination I can only hope there might be unreleased material that one day will see the light May you and your mates and especially Wendy be comforted in the memories of his love and respect for you Paul Smith says May 27 2010 at 2 14 pm Thanks for sharing such personal memories of a dearly loved person Although I never met Ronnie I never heard a bad word said about him and his wife has demonstrated through her dignity why they were together for so long Marv says May 28 2010 at 4 12 pm You re a diamond Geezer Nick says May 29 2010 at 6 14 am Dear Geezer Thanks for your warm words on Ronnie Sabbath has been with me now for some 40
