    Subscribe Sponsor a GIFF Event Donate Corporate Items Host a GIFF Event Behind Exit Wound with Hunter Holocombe Home 2013 Films Behind Exit Wound with Hunter Holocombe Behind Exit Wound with Hunter Holocombe GI Film Festival 2013 Films Doc Filmmaker GIFF 2013 GIFF News Inspirational Recovery Sports May 4 2013 In his documentary Exit Wound director Hunter Holcombe presents the story of Sgt Chess Johnson While serving in Iraq Johnson was shot through the eye ending his military career Depressed and suffering from post traumatic stress he reverted to alcoholism and drug addiction Johnson found a way to cope by participating in a program to help veterans channel their adrenaline addiction into outlets such as skiing and paragliding Hunter made this film to increase awareness of adrenaline addiction and its harmful side effects He cites an alarming statistic young veterans are three times more likely to die after returning home from combat than while actually serving and there is a strong tie to adrenaline addiction as a cause Hunter hopes that his film conveys the problem in a way that people can understand and to appreciate what veterans suffering from this addiction go through Besides filmmaking Hunter enjoys mountaineering rock
