    a complimentary whiskey tasting at the event Being able to see them at the event and knowing that I put them there was an unreal experience The thing I loved most about the event was the adrenaline During the night I was constantly running around helping to refill bars answering guests questions and making sure people was where they were supposed to be Some would feel anxious from the pressure but I felt a confidence and a pure enjoyment from making sure the event ran to precision In the end the night was a success because the whole team was able to work together and create an exciting atmosphere for the patrons Following the event we turned our focused to May and the festival With the change of focus to the actual festival so came my change of position My new role as the filmmaker liaison put me in constant contact with our chosen filmmakers to ensure that all necessary information was received and all questions were answered This has been quite an experience for me I have received every sort of email and phone call possible Some came from angry directors who believed their film was Oscar worthy others were overjoyed first time filmmakers who could never have dreamed that their film would make it into a major festival The highs and lows that this position has brought have been extremely educational especially in learning how to communicate with various individuals while maintaining a professional demeanor at all times The most important lesson I learned at GIFF was organization Being able to manage all 50 filmmakers and all that comes with it has been a tremendous learning experience and something that I will be sure to take with me into my next career path Working with GIFF has been
