advatnages disadvantages for each 4 blades on a skateboard truck platform turns the easiest but requires more skill to make it go fast in control with no wobbles The bushings must be fine tuned for performance for speed activity vs slalom 3 blade boards with a single steering front and fixed axel paired runners on rear are very fast but have the worst steering performance and suffer control issues due to that 3 blade boards with single fixed blade on rear and paired blades that turn on the front are very controlable turn easy but are too slow by comparison because the rear single blade digs in very deep It may feel quite controlable in which you can push very hard with foot pressure against the rear blade But this control costs significant speed performance There should be more thoughtful considerations for the blade runner designs than the boards We have refined our runner designs to perfection Having the right ice wind conditions is just as important as having the right tuned gear as well Most everyone here in the US have the same exact 4 blade boards and the same runners Our speeds are not only very close to each others but we have many of the top GPS speeds for windsurf sled class We are easily able to swap sail each others boards effeciently as our designs are so similar But I would value a day of great ice wind conditions to sail against and test many other types of board designs 9 11 2014 22 21 17 David Illes Jeff Here in Sweden people sail all kinds of designs 4 blade skate style 3 blade hybrid style and even single fin boards All three have as you point out pros and cons It is also as you point out important to know your equipment well and trust that it delivers the grip safety you are looking for to be able to push as hard as you can dare What can be said about this three different board styles is that when they are sailed at the same location in decent conditions and decent wind the difference in speed is more or less zero The fastest sailor will be the one who has the guts and gets lucky with a big gust 9 11 2014 22 36 13 David Illes Another important aspect is how your sail is set One example Peder Vågryttare was sailing with his Simmer 5 0 wawe sail If I recall correctly he was logging speeds around 45 knots Then he changed the setting of the sail added even more outhaul downhaul was significantly less then recommended The net result was that he gained approx 3 4 knots in speed if I recall correctly So setting your sail right and picking the right sail size is definetly a speed factor I dont think that you can use the same set of mind when speedsailing on ice as on water that is Pick the biggest

You have posted some incredible sessions lately each more progressive than the last I saw your distance PB I have only posted a 100 mile day once before Our Iceboat club offers an award for 100 miles called Millenium Award you did that and some I think the problem by design is that your latest best results go into a que to be verified by the timekeeper During that time of waiting your other previous PB standings go missing It will take some time for the timerkeeper to eventually see this in thier que and this time of year I think its off thier radar Hopefully this psot will get thier attention Great sailing Jeff 10 4 2014 00 16 08 Marcel Lepine Hi Jeff thanks for your comment Well appreciated Thanks for taking the time to respond It s a little weird usualy the session is automaticaly loaded on the top 10 of the month but now it seems to have a bug with the system or maybe just mine It looks like I was blown away from the site not listed anymore as ranking member Maybe It s about time I make my payment for Gold Member Cheers Marcel 1 Voeg een nieuw forum bericht toe GPS TOP 10 2016 1 Guy Lebrun 100 97 2 Henrik Mård 99 94 3 Jeffrey Brown 84 03 4 Stefan Söderlund 80 51 5 Lehar Jürimäe 76 69 6 Tobias Bodin 71 91 7 Rob Myles 71 65 8 Annika Valkna 71 02 9 Fredrik Klang 70 19 10 Bjorn Herlin 69 72 More Platinum supporter Laatst behaalde PR s 1 Annika Valkna 71 02 2 Bjorn Herlin 69 72 3 Lehar Jürimäe 76 69 4 Pawel Gonia 67 02 5 Adam Mróz 65 17 6 Guy Lebrun 100 97 7
