    end of one of our Learn to Curl sessions you ll be delivering curling stones down our championship ice surface and learning lots about this fantastic sport Free Learn to Curl Sessions 7 to 9pm Upcoming dates Mon Sept 21 Tue Sept 22 Thu Sept 24 Please register by calling 519 822 6171 or by email We ll reserve a space for you Don t forget to arrive at least 15 minutes before the lesson time Sunday Morning Pick Up League and Learn to Curl Sessions See the league details for our Sunday Morning Pickup League for more information What to Wear Here are a few tips to ensure you enjoy your time on the ice Layer up During the lessons you may be standing around for a few minutes watching the instructors and feel cool When you start to curl you ll warm up again Wear a light jacket or fleece that you can take on and off as you need to Wear loose pants You need to be able to stretch easily Jeans are too restrictive Bring gloves If you re worried your hands may get cold bring a pair of gloves or mittens just in case What to Bring Make sure you bring some clean running shoes with you Clean shoes Our ice technicians spend many hours making perfectly flat perfectly clean ice You will need to bring some clean shoes running shoes or tennis shoes are ideal You won t be able to go on the ice in the same shoes you arrived in That s it The great thing about curling is that you don t need any special equipment to get started We ll lend you one of our club brooms and make sure you re looked after during your learn to curl session

    ice surface and lounge and bar facilities at the club Membership Categories Unlimited Play With this membership you can curl in as many leagues as you desire day or night You have full access to all the facilities of the club and can practice at any time for free subject to ice availability Most members of the Guelph Curling Club have this type of membership as it allows them maximum flexibility in scheduling games practice and social activities Once Per Week With this membership you can curl once per week in the league of your choice You can also spare in other leagues and participate in club bonspiels and functions Once per week members enjoy full access to the lounge and bar facilities of the club so this is very cost effective option if you can only commit to curling one day per week Friday Only This is similar to a once per week membership but allows you to play on Fridays only Many curling tournaments bonspiels take place at weekends and there may be some Fridays during the season that the ice is unavailable for league play The membership fee for Friday curlers is lower to reflect the fact that they may be able to play fewer games during the season Rates and Fees We have different membership fees for Juniors Adults Seniors and Students If you are thinking of joining the club for the first time or have been a member of the Guelph Curling Club in the past please view our GCC registration form 2015 2016 or call 519 822 6171 for information Be sure to watch for our learn to curl sessions Leagues and Schedule We have leagues to suit every level of curler from complete beginners to potential Olympic athletes Many of our social leagues

    freely It is truly a special recognition of a Member s continual longstanding and selfless willingness to contribute to the growth and enjoyment of the Guelph Curling Club A Honourary Life Member shall enjoy all the privileges of membership in the Guelph Curling Club without payment of membership fees for curling from the time of their designation for life In order for a Member to be recommended for a Honourary Lifetime Member their contribution to the Club must have been significant visible and of enduring benefit to all or a majority of the Club Members The considerations for nomination should include but are not limited to the following The member shall have been a member in good standing of the Guelph Curling Club for a period totaling a minimum of 20 years Service for at least one full term on the Board of Directors Performed a substantial form of service or contribution to the GCC for a minimum of 10 years Examples of service to the GCC could be any of the following Service as a member chair of a Club Committee Assisting with instructional sessions especially for new or youth curlers Member of the Club s fundraising activities Convener of a Club league s Convener of a Club sponsored bonspiel s Assisting with or coordinating special events at the Club Recognized promoter of the Guelph Curling Club s image within and outside the club either through their on ice performance or through other channels The Member who is considered for a Honourary Life Member must be recommended to the Board of Directors by at least 5 dues paying members The nomination process includes Historical data of the nominee s volunteerism The nomination being approved by a majority of the entire Board of Directors The Honourary Life Member will be
