  • Hall or Nothing :: News :: Feeder return as Renegades
    of the usual single album tour schedule was alleviated and he was able to return to what he d always done best just write songs for himself without worrying about anything else He spent most of 2009 working away in his own time with a few breaks for festivals like he had done 18 years previously when he formed the band no expectations just writing for the pure joy of it Of course he couldn t help but construct a gaggle of accomplished catchy songs he d always had an ear for a tune as proven by the bands 2006 Singles collection selling over half a million copies in the UK alone But the new music he was making was less reflective more instinctive and back to his rock roots lots of guitars came out With a healthy bag of tunes Grant long time band member Taka Hirose and drummer Karl Brazil decided to road test the new tracks to the people who had help elevate the band to their lofty status the loyal fanbase who d been checking the website for the last year wondering what was happening The group booked a few low key shows round the country and announced them exclusively via Feederweb com of course these gigs sold out immediately They played under the name of Renegades no old tunes well maybe one or two but very old ones and the response was phenomenal It was also great fun The band hadn t played venues this size for over a decade and it was as exciting and nerve wracking as it had been back then So this next step sees the Renegades moving up a gear into bigger venues returning to a galvanised core of fans revitalised from the response to the initial shows and keen

  • Hall or Nothing :: News :: Chapel Club - O Maybe I
    February 4 January 6 2009 December 4 November 9 October 6 September 9 August 5 July 5 June 10 May 7 April 4 March 2 February 2 2008 November 3 October 1 July 1 February 3 January 1 News 12 February 2010 Chapel Club O Maybe I A name that may or may not appear on any number of lists at the outset of 2010 Chapel Club seem intent on ploughing their own furrow regardless of the hype and are pleased to confirm the release of their second single O Maybe I The band first pricked the capital s consciousness as the sun started to set on the summer of 2009 with a series of live shows in a hitherto underused setting in Dalston Word of mouth excitement led to unprecedented numbers in attendance for a band few had heard and even fewer had witnessed live The gigs proved to be a pivotal moment in the upward arc of the band s trajectory Chapel Club s recorded debut came in the pop noir form of single Surfacing which dined on past moods and moments while concocting a feast of the band s own devilish design With healthy support from specialist radio and plaudits from press quarters the band ended 2009 on a high and surrounded by high expectations not least their own O Maybe I careers into view riding this wave of anticipation and does nothing to disappoint Another track from an already impressive cache it will turn heads from the brooding opening bassline through the impassioned vocal recounting a tale of love and frustration to a finale awash with guitar beauty O Maybe I is released on 22nd February and available as a limited 7 single through East City Records and digitally via the band s website http www
