s many initiatives to provide high quality internet coverage around the world Google Fiber another component of this initiative brings high speed fiber internet to cities across the US such as Kansas City Additionally Google has been pursuing bringing internet coverage to hard to reach areas around the world using balloons with Project Loon For 5 dollars a day those in range of a balloon would have access to a 4G internet connection Google seems to have its sights set on areas currently out of reach of the internet largely in the Southern Hemisphere In June 2013 Google launched small trial runs in Australia and New Zealand and it now seems Google is preparing to move the project forward on a larger scale Google also recently acquired Titan Aerospace a company specializing in solar powered drones possibly to apply the drone technology to Project Loon Google is working towards making accessibility to internet a priority and it seems Project Nova is the next step Project NOVA will bring more opportunities to Android tablet development and the future of mobile development The tablet s need for a constant wifi connection limits the user and is a big reason why tablets and

  • Apple Forced to Remove Health Features from It's Smartwatches - Hardin Design & DevelopmentHardin Design & Development
According to the wall street journal some of the features on apple s new health focused smartwatches needed to be removed because they were either too complicated broken or would have required regulatory approval The Apple Watch was originally supposed to support tracking of blood pressure heart activity stress levels and various other functions One of the features would have used sensors to detect skin conductivity to monitor both stress levels and heart rate However this proved to be too big of a challenge since inconsistencies arose from complications like people with hairy arms dry skin or how tightly the watch was adhered Detecting blood pressure also turned out to be too difficult to implement in the watch Furthermore for the watch to support applications that would give medical advice Apple would have required approval from the FDA which they were not willing to do All of these setbacks would have undoubtedly delayed the watches scheduled release in April competing with LG Microsoft Motorola Sony and Samsung who already have similar products on the market Even though these health features will not be supported when the watch comes out Apple still plans on including them in future models Comments are

material With just the right combination of bouncing light at different angles you re tricked into believing you re actually seeing something that is in fact just an illusion In addition to the cool factor of seeing realistic holograms projected into your world the device also provides an experience that allows you to interact with what you see These interactions include response to voice and gestures To make gesture recognition possible the headset is able to pick up what your hands are doing when in the field of view of the device s camera which has a field of vision of 120 by 120 degrees Applications of the HoloLens are far reaching and developers will soon have the opportunity to explore ways to use the technology Microsoft predicts many uses for the device including but by no means limited to video gaming collaborating on projects and mechanical repairs A current application for the device is a simulation of an exploration on Mars which was created with the collaboration of Jeff Norris a NASA rocket scientist This summer NASA will begin using the device in house to help scientists collaborate on missions The device is still in the early stages and

begun banning the device given the apparent threat to privacy and safety that the device s stealthy video capture capabilities posed and attempts made by Google to establish Glass as a viable fashion statement seem to have floundered The technology had even developed a negative image of extreme wealth inequality and excessive tech reliance in cities like San Francisco where Google had hoped to expand it s consumer base for the product For many this announcement comes as no surprise Recently Google CEO Larry Paige was seen giving a talk sans Glass and the product made almost no appearance at the recent Google I O software development conference Google had never announced an official release date for the device which is a bad sign for investors and developers looking for evidence that Glass was more than an experiment Developers seemed to be shying away from Google s smart glasses with 9 out of 16 major developers admitting recently that they had halted development of Glass software in favor of more viable markets What does this mean for the future of Google s smart glasses technology For one the project is leaving Google X Google s R D division and is set to be overseen by Tony Fadell Google s recent acquisition former Apple designer and head of Google s Nest team And with all current hardware essentially abandoned Google will have to work hard to regain the trust of early adopters who purchased the 1 500 kit with hopes for future development For the time being Google has taken Glass completely under the radar and any future iterations of the smart glasses technology will likely be vastly different from the kits distributed through The Explorer Program in the last two years Hopefully the next attempt by Google to enter the

build real time apps such as chat systems and games which require constant updates to keep the information synced Google s support will now allow Firebase to scale dramatically and will complement the Google Cloud Platform With Google s engineering talent resources and technical infrastructure we ll be able to do much more much faster says the Firebase team Firebase will make iOS and Android development much easier when it comes to saving data quickly A message from Google states Mobile is one of the fastest growing categories of app development but it s also still too hard for most developers With Firebase developers are able to easily sync data across Web and mobile apps without having to manage connections or write complex sync logic Firebase makes it easy to build applications that work offline and has full featured libraries for all major Web and mobile platforms including Android and iOS With Google now working with Firebase s technology we expect there to be future API releases that will make Android s communication with databases much easier for our development here at Hardin Design Development as well as other support for web and iOS platforms We re excited to see

with lines of text you re in the terminal Bash like all shells of note employs environmental variables which are analogous to shortcuts in GUIs so if you need to access a certain file that is located in a folder that is in a folder that is in a folder you can save that file s path in a variable rather than having to type it out every single time you enter a command For example if you want to write and read from a diary file instead of typing out in this imaginary file system read users me myFiles private dontRead diary txt you can say set DIARY users me myFiles private dontRead diary txt and then read DIARY again much in the same way you could have a shortcut to the diary file on your desktop in a GUI without having to traverse all those folders Unfortunately a bug was found in Bash recently called Shellshock which has existed since Bash was first used The bug arises from a certain sequence of characters that Bash interprets as I finished typing in my environmental variable so it goes on to the next command and exeuctes it without question As a simplified example let s say you have a variable storing a string x variable perform function and then told Bash to set VARIABLE NAME x If Bash interpreted this as set VARIABLE NAME variable perform function that is used whatever was in single quotes to determine what the environmental variable was perform function could be a malicious function Bash would execute it regardless Obviously the exact sequence of characters is more complex if it wasn t it probably would have been discovered earlier but the vulnerability exists nonetheless and it is possible to define the entire function within the
