  • Suffolk Wedding Guide, Wedding Venues and Accommodation and Suppliers
other useful information along the way Once your date is decided it s time to look for your perfect venue that ticks all the boxes Bear in mind that if you have people travelling from afar you will need to offer them a list of places to stay Suffolk is a bit short on hotels so alot of people club together and book holiday cottages for the wedding weekend and make it into a mini holiday Some of our favourte larger holiday houses are set in the charming village of Walberswick so there is plenty to do for guests Take a peek at The Lodge or The Boat House or Tower Cottage or Roof Tree These all sleep 8 10 people Over in Southwold there are gorgeous houses such as Holeystone has its own beach hut Astonedene fabulous sea views or Iona Guests can visit the beach walk over to Southwold go crabbing at Wally s Bridge or enjoy the numerous pubs both sides of the creek such as The Lord Nelson or The Nelly as locals call it or The Harbour Inn Southwold or over to The Anchor and the Bell in Walberswick If you are too tired to walk then in Spring to Autumn the Walberswick ferry operates where local lass Danni Church and her colleagues row you over in a medium sized rowing boat It even allows bikes and dogs on board For chefs we can highly recommend Peter Harrison who will work at any venue His motto is Have Knives Will Travel Others include Paul Thompson or Lawsons Delicatessen for outside catering For flowers we would recommend Sue Green of Mansion House Flowers or The Garden Gate in Southwold Mischa at Foxtail Lily in Southwold is also excellent If you are over in Aldeburgh area then
