    underwater only venturing into topside work years later He began his career as a Photo Pro at Anthony s Key Resort where he enjoyed meeting veterans from the field like Stephen Frink Rick Frehsee and Marty Snyderman From there Jackson left AKR to start his own professional photography firm handling commercial clients and focusing on his underwater fine art photography During that time Jackson s work was seen in countless industry magazines like SCUBA Diving and Sport Diver His underwater video footage was also featured on ESPN and several other TV and educational programs In 2009 Jackson moved to the United States and traveled back and forth to the Caribbean for commercial campaigns In the US his work was featured in numerous galleries and continued to be seen on the pages of industry magazines as well as gaining a large following in the online community In 2014 Jackson and his family moved back to his home island of Roatan where he now runs his business Jackson is pleased to work on Bay Islands Tourism initiatives as well as work closely with the Roatan Marine Park on special conservation projects In 2015 Jackson and his Manager Maggie who is also his wife will celebrate the opening of their own Gallery in West End Roatan The gallery will feature Jackson s work house his studio and serve as home base for his new set of courses and workshops for underwater and topside photography As a native islander Jackson has witnessed the change in the reefs of Roatan over the years and he strives to make his photographs accessible to divers and underwater enthusiasts but also to people who are unfamiliar with the underwater world His hope is that by blending fine art with conservation it will lead to increased attention for our

    It was a cover on Diver magazine where David s images and articles still appear to this date He acknowledges Neil McDaniel then editor of Diver magazine and his photography as one of his first influences Neil s work was very precise for the time I learned much from studying his images and techniques In 1986 David left Vancouver for the island of Maui Hawaii where he again worked in various dive charter businesses and earned a USCG Captain s license all the while shooting and submitting his underwater images to magazines and businesses David was approached by his first stock agency shortly after coming to Hawaii and now has galleries and agents in over 50 countries that reproduce his images thousands of times each year From Hawaii David has been on assignments to 22 locations in Indonesia The Galapagos Islands Saipan Truk Lagoon Fiji Thailand Myanmar Burma Palau Yap Guam Kwajalein Atoll Pohnpei the Philippines Honduras Bahamas Australia the Sea of Cortez the Red Sea the Socorro Islands and back to the cold waters of British Columbia Prior to receiving his own assignments from National Geographic the magazine hired David to escort professional underwater photographer David Doubilet while on assignment in Hawaii Fleetham recognizes Doubilet s work as another influence on his career Doubilet is constantly taking the art of underwater photography to another level Over the years his images have encouraged me to take chances with photographic encounters that I may not have had I not had my nose in National Geographic from the beginning David shoots primarily with full frame Canon EOS Digital SLR camera s in Ikelite housings He uses various twin Ikelite strobe setups to light his images Throughout the decades David s work has appeared countless times in Ikelite catalogs presentations and pacakging Image

    engineer in the oilfield services Jacques de Vos was inspired by his scuba instructor also a talented underwater photographer to purchase his first underwater compact camera and Ikelite housing Since then he has qualified as a SCUBA instructor and Commercial Diver upgraded through numerous camera systems He now shoots both stills and video and has developed the skill set to do all of this without the aid of SCUBA Jacques enjoys the rewards of a lifestyle where he works as a fulltime underwater photographer cameraman He is also a Freediving Instructor Trainer with the world renowned Freedive International Completely self taught Jacques has won several prestigious international UW photography awards his photography has been published worldwide in several books and publications and he now also works as a camera operator on projects for companies like the BBC and Red Bull Jacques favorite subject to shoot underwater is big marine life with a preference to shoot wide angle sharks whales dolphins and freedivers and he hopes his work will one day fulfill a lifetime dream of getting up close and personal with his favorite animal the Killer Whale In terms of equipment Jacques has changed cameras a few times but has

    of a 2 5 million dollar manned submersible and photographing new finds discovered by visiting scientists A week before leaving for Curacao back in 2004 Barry bought his first Ikelite housing to fit his then Nikon D100 Over the years and thousands of dives later he moved up through the ranks of D200 D90s D300 D300s and is currently using the Nikon D800 camera in Ikelite housing with two DS160 strobes as well as a multitude of lenses and ports Transitioning to underwater photography was fairly natural for Barry although he had only logged 35 dives when he arrived in Curacao as he d done a lot of nature photography back in the States Thinking back to his first night dive he states I remember it like it was yesterday we were so scared but completely hooked It was so easy to get professional quality photos all thanks my Ikelite housing and DS125 strobes It was as easy as point and shoot I love having a see thru housing for night diving It allows me to enjoy my dive without wondering if my housing is leaking Thanks to Curacao s year round warm temperatures and crystal clear water Barry is able to spend a lot of time diving whether taking photos testing products or just having a good time Outside of photography Barry is one of the top commercial paleontologists in the States and continues to collect new fossils every year His fossils are on display all over the world and can be seen locally at the Denver Museum of Natural History in Colorado Barry is also an ex mountain bike racer who recently went to Tucson to help test mountain bikes for Outside Magazine Upon moving to Curacao and recognizing that it was lacking in single track trails Barry
