  • Organizing

JetPhoto Studio also provides the functionality to manage your keywords with Favorite Keywords Presets a mechanism to organize the global keywords with flexibility The Favorite Keywords Presets combo box appears below the keywords list in Notes panel To save the current keywords list to a Favorite Keywords Preset please enter a name in the combo box first and click button Save To restore a Favorite Keywords Preset to the current keywords list please select a preset listed in the combo box and click button Load To update the keywords list JetPhoto provides two modes that can be chosen should keep same file extensions while renaming files Camera raw and video files RAW files can be archived in JetPhoto albums but the filename shown in File field is the JPEG copy of the RAW file The information of the RAW file is listed in section Camera Raw of the list RAW filename is not editable but you can edit the filename of the JPEG copy The RAW file will be renamed synchronously and automatically as long as changed the JPEG filename Video files can be also archived in JetPhoto albums but the filename shown in File field is the preview image of the video file The information of as long as changed the preview image filename Rename files in batches with multiple modes Choose menu item Edit Batch Rename Files you can use the tool to change filenames in batches for the selected photos The tool enables flexible renaming photo files as a series of uniform names with a same prefix or and a same suffix and add an index number or a time string into each filename automatically The program can also read the EXIF photo capture time tags and write them into the filenames In this way you can always easily sort your photo files by events or categories in any environment even without JetPhoto Studio Example 1 rename files by appending index numbers Example 2 rename files by appending photo capture time Example 3 rename files with a prefix time suffix combination example you can name photo files as Event Time Location Calendar For most people the easiest and most efficient way to organize photos is based on the date and time the photos were taken Actually digital camera always save a timestamp for each photo when taking the shot Therefore you can keep your journal by taking photos and keep your multimedia diary in JetPhoto Studio JetPhoto Studio offers a calendar interface to review photos There is nothing else for you to do JetPhoto obtains the photo capture time automatically and properly as long as photos or videos are imported from a digital camera The specified date or time when the user took photos will be highlighted in Month View or Week View In this way the user can quickly pick out the wanted photos by timeline Month view Select Month View   • GPS and Geotagging
    have Longitude and Latitude properties You can know them in photo information list with selecting Information extra panel or review the photo location on a map with selecting Geotag extra panel When you only want to geotag the specified photos with GPS tracks you can select photos in the album window as you need and choose item Match selected photos with GPS tracks in the pull down menu here The accuracy of the photo locating depends on a parameter that can be decided by user While matching photos with time synchronized GPS tracks the program only locates the photo if time difference to the nearest track point is less than a given shorter time The default time range is less than 300 seconds and you can click button Automatic Locating in GPS Logs window and select item Parameters in the pull down menu to change the parameter Time Calibration Sometimes the photographer uses GPS logger but forgot to keep the time setting on the camera accurately Due to the difference between the camera time and the GPS time photo locating results have to be inaccurate with a time synchronized matching For the accurate matching JetPhoto Studio already provides two methods to calibrate photo capture time You could find two menu items in Calendar extra panel click the gear button to choose Adjust time zone or Correct capture time Here show a demonstration to explain how to calibrate photo capture time accurately As our experience in order to know the time offset between your GPS and your camera what you should do is to take a picture for the GPS receiver monitor or any clock displaying a standard time GPS time is equal to the accurate standard time GPS receiver gets the time from GPS satellites As above sample picture we know the photo capture time in the camera is 2006 08 29 10 15 02 but the photo capture time in the GPS is 2006 08 29 10 15 25 Therefore the time offset between two devices is 23 seconds The user need to plus 23 seconds for each photo s capture time before run the processing to match photos with GPS tracks Then just need select all photos in the album window and use the tool to correct the capture time for photos in a batch know more NOTE GPS time is always equal to the accurate standard time that you can find on your Mac also If your GPS unit doesn t have a monitor to display the time please just take a picture for this clock interface instead Mac OS X can set date time automatically synchronized with Internet time server to ensure the time displayed is accurate Locating Photos with Waypoints Users can mark waypoints with some GPS devices The waypoint is a location record contains a latitude longitude coordinate Import waypoints Select Map tab in album main window or Geotag tab in extra side panel click button Locate photos with GPS to show a GPS Logs window Click button GPS Import choose item Import from GPS logger in the pull down menu to show a dialog box in which please choose GPS device type connection port and select option Download Waypoints Click button Import to download all waypoints from the connected GPS device List waypoints All downloaded waypoints are listed in GPS Logs window Click the pencil icon button to change the name of current selected waypoint Click the icon button to delete current selected waypoint Click the icon button to add a new waypoint manually You could first select one photo that has been located to get a default latitude longitude coordinate for the new waypoint Locate photos with waypoint Select photos in Thumbnails view Click button Manual Locating in GPS Logs window and select item Locate photos with selected waypoint in the pull down menu JetPhoto Studio will add geographical location properties latitude longitude for the selected photos with the current selected waypoint And then you can see the located photos corresponds to some markers on the map Locating Photos on Map Even if you don t have any GPS device yet you still can locate photos in a manual way JetPhoto Studio enables locating photos on maps and also supports marking camera directions as well as camera positions for your photos Select a photo or several photos in Thumbnails view and select Geotag extra panel If the current photo is not located yet please click button Locate Photos on Map and if the current photo is already located you can also click button Change Photo Location Now you can see a window with an embedded map view in which points the location where the photo was taken 1 Search the map enter a place name or a detailed street address to quickly locate this map to a specified place 2 Hold mouse button and drag mouse to move the map move the position where the photo was taken into the central target 3 Also if you d like to set the camera lens heading for the photo just click the central target to begin the direction adjusting Click the central target again to accept the direction setting or double click the central target to discard the direction setting 4 Click button Locate Photo JetPhoto Studio will add Longitude Latitude properties and Heading property for the photo according to the targeted location on the map 5 Click left arrow or right arrow button to     as the beginning position of the remained video after trimming Click button to set the current video frame as the end position of the remained video after trimming Click button to cancel the trimming After setting one or two trimming positions the segment of the remained video will be selected with highlight on the time bar The video player will only playback the selected video segment The parts trimmed off will be ignored while playing but JetPhoto Studio should never get rid off the data in the video file until need export the video clip for a web publishing Then the encoder program will trim the video and only the segment selected will be transcoded to the target web video file Preview Image Click button the current video frame in the player will become the preview image of this video It will be shown as the thumbnail and the splash image in the video player After generating Flash galleries web galleries or web video players the preview image will be also exported with the video file Encoding Web Videos JetPhoto Studio need transcode video clips to H 264 format for publishing the videos to web A quick tool is provided in JetPhoto to finish the necessary video encoding and generate a web video player that can be opened with any Flash enabled web browsers and Safari on iPad iPhone Click Encode Web Video action button or choose menu item Create Share Encode Web Video In the dialog box you can set options for encoding web videos and generating a web page to playback the video Merge video clips into a single video If checked the option the encoder will join all video clips and export them into a single target H 264 file And the generated web page will only contain one player for the single video file If unchecked the option the encoder will transcode each video clip separately And the generated web page will contain a set of players one player is for one separate video clip Video Encoding Quality With the encoding the video files ready for the web publishing will be transcoded to H 264 format You can decide the encoding quality of the target H 264 video files With the default setting the target video will be resized into a dimension smaller than 480 x 360 pixels only downscale and maintain aspect ratio The data rate of the target video file will be less than 900k bps In other words the smooth playback of the the web video requires a 1M or faster internet connection A higher quality is for resizing video into 640 x 480 pixels and a 1 5Mbps or faster network connection is required when playback the web video The highest quality is for resizing video into 960 x 540 pixels 30fps or 1280 x 720 pixels 15fps and a 5Mbps or faster network connection is required when playback the web video Video Player Dimension The web video encoder will also generate

    box located in top left corner of Watermark panel Then you can also set the position of the watermark stamped on the photo choose Top Left Bottom Left Top Right Bottom Right or Center When stamping watermarks JetPhoto Studio will automatically resize watermark image to fit your target photos Actually you can t decide the actual size of your watermark on the target photo when you design it Normally the size of the watermark image you prepared shall be much bigger than the size of the the watermark you want to see on the target photos Here is a typical setting to make a quality watermark image Image Size 512 x 512 pixels Image Format PNG with alpha transparent Image Color Mode 8 bit gray or RGB Advanced Settings optional Choose Advanced tab you can find more options if you want to only publish parts of photos in the album For example you can only publish photos have been assigned with stars Finished all settings then click button Synchronize Now the WebSync program will upload the album files to the server immediately After used WebSync you could still continue to organize photos in the album with your JetPhoto Studio Adds or removes photos sorts photos and modifies descriptions or keywords Now uses WebSync again to update all changes to your server In the meantime the changed metadata and photo files will be uploaded one by one as needed Web Ready WebReady looks like a lite version of WebSync With the same functionality to be ready for publish albums to the web but WebReady doesn t communicate with JetPhoto Server directly like WebSync Actually the goals to use WebReady contains two Manual Uploading Albums to JetPhoto Server WebReady is an alternative method to publish your albums to JetPhoto Server You could use WebReady to export the album as a specific file package contains all resized image files and a XML metadata file to be ready for the web publishing with JetPhoto Server The exported file package is a folder with a data filename extension you should manually upload it to the web server and copy the data package into the data folder of your JetPhoto Server path jpserver data The server side program will read files there to represent web album pages For JetPhoto Server v1 5 you need have to use WebReady if the server doesn t support FTP that WebSync required or you d like to upload album data files to the server manually For JetPhoto Server Pro v2 5 the WebSync program transfers files to the server through inside HTTP sessions but it s also possible to upload album data files to the server manually by FTP WebDAV or other file transfer interfaces You should first use WebReady to export the album photos and metadata into a data file package And then copy the data file package to path jpserver data on your server manually The web album is still hidden on the server after uploading album files
