    on parade They are pitted against the plot s main characters who through their fake accents attempt to convey a second rate storyline The grand metropolis where Garrett operates appears impressive portraying a colossal playground of hide and seek You soon discover however that for some reason Garrett cannot jump or climb except on designated locations This breaks the natural flow puts a damper on the game s movement and makes exploration rather difficult What s more the loading times in a seemingly open sandbox city feel odd and really bring the game s movement to a halt For example the swoop replaces jumping By swooping in a flash Garrett can move from cover to cover remaining undetected in the shadows while stalking his targets or infiltrating a heavily guarded building Garrett also has a wide selection of tools to help him in his quest His bow serves as both a weapon to take out enemies quickly and quietly or full volume if explosive arrows are used but can also be used to extinguish torches and light sources with water arrows and gain new access points with the rope arrows Garrett can also use the claw to climb or suspend himself from ledges and walls use wire cutters to disable traps pick locks chests and safes or use his blackjack to bash opponents on the head quickly quietly and harmlessly taking them out There is a great feeling of satisfaction when sneaking into a secure manor and stealing treasures before gaining access to the grand prize which can be a masterwork of art expensive jewelry or a rare piece of the game s lore The stolen goods can then be displayed at the base of Garrett s clock tower to be viewed at any time during the game Visually the

    was too difficult and unfinishable But bad press didn t stop our Flappy Bird for it continued to soar higher than any other game out there and it remained on top outranking its competitors It also increased the downloads to just shy of 500 000 000 making tens of thousands of dollars every day on in game advertising becoming one of the most popular mobile games of the year Not bad for 2 days of development time Flappy Bird clones instantly popped on the App Store Flappy Pigs Flappy Bats Flappy Celebrities Flappy Politicians and others flooded the mobile arena trying to grab as many Flappy Bird users as possible Some are inexpensive rip offs while others try and improve the original gameplay with gimmicks and different gameplay mechanics Unofficial merchandise began showing up on web stores shirts hats posters key chains and even more bizarre items like decorative Flappy Bird guns and rifles There were even smartphones for sale online with the original game installed where prices started at in the thousands of dollars At the height of its success Flappy Bird began taking the heat Rumors circulated the web that Dong Nguyen used bots to boost the download numbers giving the flapping game a helping hand When confronted the young developer tried to dodge the question and at one point didn t deny his bot boosting Websites and forums began alluding that Flappy Bird was a clone of another game Piou Piou vs Cactus which features the same game mechanics and characters a bird navigated through a map filled with cacti user taps the screen Once again Nguyen declined comment fueling the suspicion that he copied the game from another source Other rumors claimed that much of the game s sound effects and visuals were stolen from Super

    both hell bent on pleasing the masses with advanced graphic cards capable of running the top games on insane settings Nvidia is creating a lot of buzz around its 790 series and the subsequent 800 series 800 will have an integrated ARM CPU making the GPU more independent from the main CPU That means energy efficient performance and improved graphic processing AMD is not far behind with the new FirePro a supercomputing server graphics card with 12GB memory and their new API Mantle co developed with DICE a well known game developer famous for their acclaimed Battlefield series The Mantle API will make life easier for game developers by near elimination of hardware abstraction and a demo of Mantle will soon be available running Battlefield 4 All this new high end tech is going to deal with the next gen heavyweight games like Ubisoft s Watchdogs and Tom Clancy s The Division EA s Mirror s Edge Tech land s zombie slasher runner Dying Light and Rockstar s Grand Theft Auto V which already proved successful in the consoles Every one of these games promises unique visual innovations ranging from dynamic weather effects real time day and night systems advanced physics engines and further graphic upgrades which will really push both Nvidia and AMD s graphic cards to the limit The price of being a hardcore gamer is going to go even higher Although many low price high performance gaming rigs are available many still choose to spend big bucks on rigs that can pull big graphics purchasing insane graphic cards monster processors countless slots of memory and complex cooling systems to run games on the highest resolution with maxed AA and settings The reasons for this are endless Some gamers feel the need to boast and show off their

    to find the teen dehydrated and exhausted That was the start of what would later be called a gaming epidemic Thousands of gamers would find themselves collapsing due to exhaustion dehydration malnourishment and severe lack of sleep And those were lucky ones Some gamers would later be found in their rooms slumped dead in front of a Game Over screen As the gaming industry continued to boom gamers became more extreme some began camping outside of gaming stores waiting to be the first to buy a new video game or a gaming console Other started missing school and work alienating friends and family and disappearing entirely Many of these ghost gamers began living life online appearing in forums social platforms and in game discussions becoming online personas and eventually recognized solely by their in game avatar In real life however these types of gamers exile themselves from society leading a hermit s life rarely leaving the house Some cannot even manage a real face to face conversation without the safety of a keyboard and screen Friends and family would try to help and perform interventions to try and break the addiction cycle of the obsessed gamer Those willing to change are treated the same way as drug or addicts or alcoholics However the temptation of playing the game is still there With games becoming more advanced and complex tempting gamers with incredible graphics showing colorful fantasy worlds and compelling story lines lets gamers fulfill their greatest fantasies With interesting characters in fantastic settings advanced technology transforms the game into a dynamic interactive experience The promise of an extensive multi player and online features connects the gamer to others around the world Let s not forget easy accessibility in that games are no longer confined to PCs and consoles Handheld consoles

    of abilities the Esper a battlefield controller the Stalker a devious rogue and last but not least the Spellslinger a mobile gunslinger that shoots magic Each class boasts its own unique abilities with exceptional skills and a gameplay style that will appease MMO veterans making them feel oh so right at home Once you finish the tutorial you are thrust into an open world sandbox where you will bravely pursue your quest choosing one of four available paths Soldiers will engage in combat scenarios Explorers will circle the globe looking for hidden mysteries Settlers will play the more social aspect of the game and Scientists will gather every conceivable tidbit of wisdom in the world Each path has its own unique quests missions challenges and rewards to help you develop your character while you explore the world in a truly cool way and no two paths are the same Quests follow the typical MMO mantra of go to destination kill X number of creatures retrieve specific item or NPC or defeat big bad boss While not attempting to innovate or modify the familiar as it were some quests can repeat themselves Yet the world of Wildstar is a colorful sci fi western simply gushing with style and humor This is enhanced by the game s extraordinary soundtrack making questing and exploring both fun and I might add addictive Each new town camp or dungeon is packed with bizarre alien creatures deadly enemies and precious loot to uncover Plus Wildstar s NPCs boast some of MMO s most entertaining characters with superb voiceover narration that give characters their own unique style The enemies in the game are an exuberant bunch with fun challenging battles and rather amusing moments whether you re fighting them solo or with friends The combat system is an eclectic mix of action and traditional MMORPG hotkey battles You ve got your special skills and attacks all lined up but you need to aim directly at the target Once you do your attack path is illuminated This can give the target enough time to react and dodge the attack turning the battleground into a brilliant canvass of neon colors and shapes Fighting against AI opponents is equally entertaining Here the hot ticket is the PVP battleground where up to twenty players from opposing factions engage in a real showdown in various combat modes and warzones a chaotic dance of key mashing while trying to evade incoming attacks Wildstar is a refreshing change of pace from today s standard mass multiplayer games Instead of trying to compete with World of Warcraft Wildstar somehow feels like a sci fi homage to WoW It delivers a superior combat system an exquisite world to explore and copious amounts of much needed humor and personality unlike other MMO s that take themselves far too seriously In a word Wildstar is not trying to reinvent the wheel but it does add a new tire or two and it does paint some kick ass flames
