    for the throwing events we re hoping to see some big things from her said McKitrick Overall we re just hoping to put a lot of marks on the board this season The Mustangs will head east on April 1 for their first meet in Columbus HARRISON Track I love watching athletes in track as they give 100 percent from their heart said Harrison s first year head coach Kaysha Young Young is the high school cross country coach and coached junior high track last season but this year will mark her first season as the high school coach I am grateful to be back in Pony and coaching at the high school and in the events that I have so many fond memories of she said After losing two powerhouse athletes last season to graduation Young said senior and returning state attendee Taya DeFrance will lead the pack DeFrance went to state in multiple events including high jump long jump triple jump and the 100 and 300 meter hurdles According to Young you can expect a lot of dedication and determination from this Wildcat team We have a young and inexperienced team this year with seven of 10 athletes being freshman or sophomore athletes that have never participated in track before Young said The athletes and coaches are excited for the year and hope to represent Madison County well TWIN BRIDGES Track Head coach Louis Reynolds will spend his 11th season with the Falcon track team and said he always has high expectations from his athletes I always expect a lot but you don t know till the season comes Reynolds said While he is unsure of how many athletes will participate this season Reynolds said he is positive we can expect some great things from the Falcons as long as injuries stay to a minimum Looking at both the boys and girls we should have two pretty decent teams he said Senior standout Jessica George will be back in action this season after recovering from a knee injury last season but has switched places with her younger sister Audrey who ended her basketball season early due to a knee injury Audrey was a huge asset to the team last year said Reynolds And we don t get her this year so that s going to hurt Sophomore Kailee Oliverson is also expected to do well in the sprinting and hurdling events according to coach Reynolds She just shines in every event she does he said Mara Johnson will also be another athlete to watch in the field side of the sport as she takes on the javelin this year For the boys Reynolds said sprinter Bill Yeager is back and aching for a state title Yeager took third in the 400 at state last year he wants it pretty bad said Reynolds Jumper Wesley Harshbarger is another athlete Reynolds said to keep an eye on Harshbarger really came in last year as a sophomore and produced we might
