    big plans for the expansion All the modern furniture will go in the expansion Albrecht explained The original library will be a quiet room the Thompson Hickman reading room Back to its original glory A place for kids Though both Albrecht and Koch are most excited about two bathrooms and hot running water it s the little things Albrecht said they are also looking forward to how the expansion will benefit the community We re going to have such a great children s space Koch who runs the children s program said Just last week we had 12 kids and nine adults we ll have so much more room Students from the Alder School also travel to the library once a month Albrecht said The Alder School visits the library in order to expand the students knowledge of local libraries according to head teacher Teresa Murdoch Koch and Albrecht have ben very helpful to our students in teaching them how to use the library she said It has been a wonderful experience for our students to learn more about basic library skills and usage Community space The expansion will also provide a meeting room for the community Albrecht said Public libraries are much more community centers these days he said Many clubs already use this space but will have more room The community room and restrooms in the expansion will have an outside door so the community can access the facilities after hours for town council meetings chamber of commerce meetings and more Koch said Categories News Headline Tags Construction Madison County Montana The Madisonian Thompson Hickman County Library and Virginia City Bookmark the permalink Leave a comment Recommended Articles The Thompson Hickman Library will receive a 2 368 square foot addition End in sight for construction of library addition
