Thursday 07 February 2013 in General Font size Larger Smaller Hits 1430 Subscribe to this entry Print Bookmark A while back the MapDotNet UX team released a demo showing how to overlay a weather WMS on our HTML5 map control The demo is located here The source was from NOAA and their nowCoast WMS The resolution was fair about 1 5 km pixel but not quite up to par with other commercial sources Today we released an updated demo showing another source with better resolution and contrast from Mesonet View the commented HTML source from our demo to see how we overlay the WMS after doing some HTML5 client side image processing to smooth out the data and remove image noise You ll note how the weather overlay layer uses an isc rim tile layer with a custom WMS requestor window requestorWeather in the demo The image from the WMS is downloaded tile by tile and stretched for spherical Mercator so it can be overlaid on the base map An isc rim tile renderer uses a custom bitmap rendering function renderBitmapFunc to do a Gaussian blur and noise removal all client side in JavaScript Now your mobile and desktop solutions
