  • OS concerns using MDN SDK - MapDotNet
running Windows7 runs perfectly fine The way we fixed this before was to avoid hitting the SDK from an app running in IIS because it had trouble finding the proj dll file However this is the exact same app running with the same directory contents throwing exceptions with the only consistent variable seeming to be the OS We have tried on 5 different machines 3 Win7 and 2 Win2008R2 3 successes and 2 failures respectively Exception thrown Proj initialization failed proj4 not present and no such EPSGProjection registered Thanks Nick Tweet Responses 4 Likes Highest Vote Latest Oldest Accepted Answer By Russell de Grove Thursday September 01 2011 05 56 PM permalink 0 I have an app using proj and parts of our SDK running under WIN2K8 IIS Also our web services use proj and run on WIN2K8 Must be the right DLL version x86 or x64 epsg file must be present PROJ LIB environment variable must reference the folder where epsg file is You d need an IIS reset after setting an environment level The reply is currently minimized Show Accepted Answer Registered By nick Thursday September 01 2011 06 39 PM permalink 0 We are not going through IIS this is a Windows Service trying to use the SDK You don t believe there s any limitations here The reply is currently minimized Show Accepted Answer Registered By nick Thursday September 01 2011 07 19 PM permalink 1 Done 64bit proj dll and the project had to be specifically built for 64bit AnyCPU won t work The reply is currently minimized Show Accepted Answer By Russell de Grove Thursday September 01 2011 08 27 PM permalink 0 Interesting and useful to know I haven t used our SDK from within a Windows Service so I was unaware of

  • save map as image file - MapDotNet
a silverlight site that is hosted on one serve and points to another server for the hosting of mapdotnet s services I ve tried adding the map as a UIElement to a WriteableBitmap but the pixels are not accessible From looking around other forums this is due to a crossdomain issue I ve put very open crossdomain xml and clientaccesspolicy xml files at the root of my MDN server as well as my client hosting server to no avail Have you seen this before Do you have recommendations for a solution in this direction Assuming this could not be fixed I moved on to try to request an image or imagestream directly from MDN s server I setup a SimpleMapRequest with no luck and then tried a MapRequest I don t think I m heading down the right route here In the end my question is is there a demo or sample that already implements something like this I d be happy to scour through a demo to figure this out but I don t see one that does what I m looking for Thanks Tweet Responses 1 Likes Highest Vote Latest Oldest Accepted Answer By Russell de Grove Monday January 09 2012 07 03 PM permalink 0 We don t have a sample for this We ve written solutions that pass map view information to a web method that retrieves all basemap and MDN tiles and draws them into a Bitmap image It gets complicated quickly especially if you have client side rendering Issues include avoiding changes in scale dependencies when targeting a new image size A detailed example is beyond the scope of this forum The reply is currently minimized Show Your Reply Please login to post a reply You will need to be logged in to be

  • Zoom level per tile requestor - MapDotNet
to the extent of the highest resolution images the background is blank if we are currently using a less resolute tile cache This makes sense as the files requested by the map do not exist Can we set a max request level specific to each tile requestor The ideal scenario would be to continue to zoom into the highest resolution image requested Example MaxMapZoom 20 MaxRequestLevel 16 so the image at level 16 is very pixelated but not blank when the map zooms to levels 17 20 Tweet Responses 5 Likes Highest Vote Latest Oldest Accepted Answer Registered By nick Friday July 27 2012 12 42 PM permalink 0 Note I found where I can set the max zoom level on a TileLayer but the last image is still replaced with blank white when you zoom past the specified level The reply is currently minimized Show Accepted Answer By Russell de Grove Friday July 27 2012 01 03 PM permalink 0 We will take this under consideration for future development The reply is currently minimized Show Accepted Answer By Brian Hearn Friday July 27 2012 02 29 PM permalink 0 You may need to extend SphericalMercatorTileProjection and override the GetMaxZoomLevel method The reply is currently minimized Show Accepted Answer Registered By nick Friday July 27 2012 03 45 PM permalink 0 This TileProjection object is used at the base map level When overriding it I can specifiy a different zoom level but this would not be tile layer specific plus it seems that it prevents all zooming past this level rather than allowing it without redraws The reply is currently minimized Show Accepted Answer By Russell de Grove Friday July 27 2012 04 58 PM permalink 0 That s correct We don t currently support the scenario you describe The

  • crazy map state - MapDotNet
visibility on demand Unfortunately this won t work and I need to add remove to the TileLayer each time This is causing a weird mapstate where the whole map is outlined in either white or blue and the fill of polygons is either a solid gray or green No map of mine has any of these colors Upon refresh NotifyUpdateSource the map comes back in just fine Do you have a solution to this I d rather not delay the map rendering by refreshing everytime after load Tweet Responses 2 Likes Highest Vote Latest Oldest Accepted Answer By Russell de Grove Friday November 02 2012 02 38 PM permalink 0 At what point s in the application lifecycle do you know which map you need to use The reply is currently minimized Show Accepted Answer Registered By nick Friday November 02 2012 06 35 PM permalink 0 Mid app post launch It s selectable by the user I am going to try to refactor such that I can keep all maps around and just adjust the visibility on the fly I ll update you when complete The reply is currently minimized Show Your Reply Please login to post a reply
