  • Silverlight: How to select a shape (on click over the shape) that was added to the map - MapDotNet
2012 01 08 AM 0 I m trying to add the ability to select a polygon shape on a mouse button click that I added to my map via myMap MapController AddMapViewChild I ve been searching through the interactive SDK as well as this forum but can t seem to find an analogous example Most of the examples I see are selecting an item from a layer on the map by querying a data source but I don t have a data source other than the base map I ve been adding shapes to the map via a new ContentAreaElementOverlay and would like to be able to know when the user has clicked over one of these shapes Is this possible Tweet Responses 2 Likes Highest Vote Latest Oldest Accepted Answer By Russell de Grove Friday April 13 2012 01 02 PM permalink 0 You won t be able to use mouse events on the MapViewChild because our events layer will trap them Use the MapView MouseLeftSingleClickPosition to capture map clicks and test them against your polygon For a PathElement or PolyElement called Target displaying a Polygon shape private void MapView MouseLeftSingleClickPosition object sender PointPairEventArgs e if Polygon Target Shape GeometryIntersects e MapPoint ToMDNSPoint MessageBox Show Clicked me quot For a Polyline points never hit lines perfectly so use Polyline DistanceFrom e MapPoint ToMDNSPoint with a reasonable tolerance The reply is currently minimized Show Accepted Answer Registered By Chris Early Monday April 16 2012 04 51 PM permalink 0 Thanks Russell that did the trick I hadn t discovered the GeometryIntersects function yet The reply is currently minimized Show Your Reply Please login to post a reply You will need to be logged in to be able to post a reply Login using the form on the right or register

having trouble figuring out how to add a new Polyline that does not exist on the map already Is this possible without using the editor Or do I have to figure out a way to do this with the editor If we do have to use the editor is there a way to supply the points being added rather than having the user tapping clicking to add the point I also can t figure out how to convert the lat lon point that I have to a MapDotNet map point is there a function for this in the touchGeo HTML5 api s That s a good number of questions there but if you could help us figure this out I think we ll be well on our way to having a workable touchGeo solution for our current project Thanks Tweet Accepted Answer Registered By Chris Early Wednesday January 16 2013 06 19 PM permalink 0 I just went back to this and figured out what I was doing wrong after perusing the touchGeo javascript code As I suspected my mistake was one of ignorance I was trying to create my own containerMap variable in index html by directly grabbing the myMap div but this will not work Instead I had to go to the isc touchgeo map js file and add a few custom functions to this class using the containerMap variable that had the set the HTML5 RIM map control via the containerMap rimMap call Then in index html I accessed these functions via the isc touchGeo mapMgr object and the shapes started showing up nicely The reply is currently minimized Show Responses 2 Likes Highest Vote Latest Oldest Accepted Answer By Russell de Grove Thursday January 10 2013 03 26 PM permalink 0 See the following in our help http apps mapdotnet com HTML5 Help index htm I m having trouble figuring out how to add a new Polyline that does not exist on the map already See addPathGeometry styledGeom key under isc rim widget js Geometry methods under isc rim geometry js styledGeometry methods under isc rim content layer js I also can t figure out how to convert the lat lon point that I have to a MapDotNet map point isc rim sphericalMercator projectFromLatLon lonLat under isc rim sphericalMercator js point methods under isc rim core js The reply is currently minimized Show Accepted Answer Registered By Chris Early Thursday January 10 2013 08 03 PM permalink 0 Thanks for the pointers Russell I still can t get any geometry I add manually to the map to show up though there s a good chance I m missing something obvious but I can t figure it out thus far Here is the sample code I have var containerMap myMap var poly isc rim wkt parse POLYGON 10853024 6525 4235081 5478 10853023 4582 4234839 0991 10853023 7097 4234516 63039 10853023 0582 4234090 25509 10853026 5234 4233466 30814 10853010 4633 4233111 30264 10851042 038 4233073 25596 10851070 7019
