  • MBWales - October trails
    is currently all open and riding really nicely although it ll probably be a bit wet this weekend On the Wall Trail there s just the diversion across the Afan footbridge from the visitor centre in place otherwise all singletrack sections are open and running really well Work is currently being carried out on the weekdays in several sections though so please get off your bike and walk past the trail crews if you see work in progress On Skyline Heartburn and Grand Canyon have diversions in place due to tree felling while Handy Andy is waiting for maintenance work following tree harvesting Please follow the signage and help them keep you and the trails safe Tree harvesting is also due to start on the linking section of W2 in the next month too so a diversion will be put in place to keep this trail open Over at Cwm Carn trail material has now been deposited at a couple of locations on the Twrch Trail for upcoming maintenance work Twrch trail has also had a few trees pruned back to help avoid the head slapping against branches and open up the sight lines a little Again this trail is riding pretty good at the moment Work has now been completed on the refresh of the bottom section of the Y Mynydd DH course too and by all accounts the local DH riders are loving the updated lines In the wild west at Brechfa a diversion is in place around the second descent of the Gorlech trail due to tree harvesting Maintenance is due to start any time soon on the Raven and Derwen trails as well so please follow all warning signs when they appear Apart from that the trails are all looking very good as we head into

    Level The Energy Section has had work completed including some stone pitching on a couple of steep banks and some resurfacing and reshaping of the dark boarded section The Wall Work started on Monday to replace the temporary bridge in tramway section with a stone causeway after the last one was washed away a couple of years ago Work should be completed in 3 weeks time A diversion is in place sending riders straight to Nantybar from the Rheilffodd trail at the bottom of the valley Skyline Current diversions still in place due to harvesting works Heartburn Handy Andy and Grand Canyon Cwm Carn Twrch Trail Work started this week on reopening access tracks to Angels Posts Dragon s Tongue and Castle Valley to get trail surface material and stone close to the MTB trail for future repairs Y Mynydd DH track Work to start next week Mon and Tues on repairs to the DH trail specifically on the entrance to the Tunnel and from the Drop Off right down to the finish Work to include reshaping the trail tread and building up the berms to their original size Work will continue on Mon and Tues for the forthcoming weeks
