    140 km this mostly off road paved trail is suitable for walking cycling or rollerblading The route consists of the Welland Canal Parkway Fort Erie Friendship Trail Niagara River Recreation Trail Waterfront Trail and Trans Canada Trail It takes you through urban centres the Niagara Escarpment waterfronts and agricultural areas Niagara River Recreational Trail This paved mixed use path parallels the Niagara River for 56 km from Fort George in Niagara on the Lake through Chippawa to historic Fort Erie Along the way you can enjoy Niagara Parks attractions historic sites monuments and plaques as well as scenic picnic and natural areas Upper Canada Heritage Trail This route connects St David s with Niagara on the Lake From the Bruce Trail just east of St David s Golf Club head northeast across Regional Road 81 to the corner of North Line and First Concession Road then travel north along the abandoned railway bed paralleling First Concession Road Railroad Street It then bends northwest at the East West Line and converges with The Promenade At Charlotte Street it extends northeast until John Street then heads east to connect with the Niagara River Recreation Trail Queenston Heights Loop Part of Canada s oldest and longest hiking trail this 11 km portion of the longer 782 km Bruce Trail begins in Queenston Heights Park at the eastern cairn on the edge of the park and takes about 3 5 hours to complete Niagara Glen Nature Reserve This begins at Wintergreen Flat a picnic area north of the Niagara Parkway where you ll find a metal staircase that takes you 30 m down the side of a cliff At the base you can access the White Red or Blue trail each of which offers hikers a different experience Watch your footing at the water
