  • The Winner of Sinatra Song Showdown Is...
prevailed in the Championship Round of the Sinatra Song Showdown presented by Hudson Whiskey How did we select the competing tunes We looked at several online rankings of Sinatra songs to compile our original list of 16 Our selections were divided into two eras pre and post 1960 and ranked from 1 to 8 for each era based on the online lists On each side of the bracket we paired the highest ranking song with the lowest 1 vs 8 2 vs 7 and so on My Way one of Sinatra s best known hits expresses confidence in the face of adversity Indeed it is only appropriate that a song that boasts of scraping its way to the top now stands atop of our competition To our voters w say thank you for participating in the Sinatra Song Showdown presented by Hudson Whiskey You faced it all and you stood tall and did it your way Read more Just For the Web articles By submitting comments you grant permission for all or part of those comments to appear in the print edition of New Jersey Monthly 7 Songs to Comfort Christie on His Failed Presidential Bid Podcast Why We re Called The Garden State Table Hopping Jersey Shore Restaurant Week Melange in Somerville A Dress For Every Occasion NJ Father and Son s Wines Win Big 7 Dining Trends to Watch in 2016 February 2016 Best New Restaurants Table of Contents Subscribe Give a Gift Locate a Newsstand Purchase back issues View older issues Paper Mill Playhouse presents A Bronx Tale Millburn Feb 04 Mar 06 Frozen in Ice at Skylands Stadium Augusta Feb 05 Feb 28 The Beach Boys Morristown Feb 10 SOMA Film Festival South Orange Feb 12 Feb 14 Marc Anthony Concierto del Día de San Valentín

  • Hello: A Note to Adele from the Garden State
well Did you ever make it out of Philly and NYC So why isn t Adele stopping in the Garden State Senate Republican leader Tom Kean says it s because the state does not currently offer tax incentives to A list performers To attract big name entertainers to New Jersey specifically to Atlantic City Kean recently introduced bill S 2721 Unanimously passed by the Senate State Government Committee the bill provides state income tax credit to qualifying entertainers who perform at least four dates in Atlantic City s tourism district Qualifying entertainers would get a credit on all income they earn performing at any New Jersey venue including in Atlantic City Camden Trenton Newark and Holmdel in the same calendar year The Adele tour announcement shows that unless we enact this cost free legislation New Jersey will continue to lose job and revenue growth in a wide variety of sectors Kean says New Jersey gets nothing from Adele performing eight shows in neighboring New York and Pennsylvania Recommended Reading Staff Picks Snow Day Activities Hello from the other side of the Hudson At least Kean can say that he tried To make it up to you because we d love a visit But it don t matter it clearly doesn t tear you apart anymore With a closer look at Adele s tour dates there is a clear preference for extended residencies at the biggest cosmopolitan arenas in North America six nights at Madison Square Garden six nights at the Staples Center in Los Angeles three nights at the United Center in Chicago and so forth So maybe there would be some incentive for performers like Adele to make a stop or two in New Jersey if a bill like S 2721 were passed Then again many city centers were snubbed Perhaps big name performers like Adele just don t need an extra stop over in the Garden State with New York and Philly so close not that we wouldn t love it Hello from the other side of the Delaware At least I can say that Kean tried To tell you we re sorry for not giving you a tax incentive But it don t matter you clearly don t need the money anymore There are no photos with those IDs or post 121953 does not have any attached images Read more Culture Corner Just For the Web Politics Public Affairs articles By submitting comments you grant permission for all or part of those comments to appear in the print edition of New Jersey Monthly 7 Songs to Comfort Christie on His Failed Presidential Bid Podcast Why We re Called The Garden State Table Hopping Jersey Shore Restaurant Week Melange in Somerville A Dress For Every Occasion NJ Father and Son s Wines Win Big 7 Dining Trends to Watch in 2016 February 2016 Best New Restaurants Table of Contents Subscribe Give a Gift Locate a Newsstand Purchase back issues View older issues Paper Mill Playhouse presents A Bronx
