    guide Jargon buster Investor properties BTL Stamp Duty Calculator Our Offices About Us Careers Charitable Foundation Complaint handling procedure Company details Awards About us Charitable Foundation Background Since opening our doors for the first time in 1995 we have maintained a tradition of donating time and raising funds for charities up and down the country In 2013 we tragically lost our Managing Director and close friend Nick Cooper to pancreatic cancer and so decided to establish the Northwood Charitable Foundation in his memory Northwood celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2015 and we were delighted to have the Foundation in place to celebrate the event as well as remind us all of Nick s sizeable contribution to our company and to the industry which he served so diligently Chosen Charity The Foundation will nominate carefully selected charities and it was felt appropriate to begin by lending our support to the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund in 2015 Working closely with Founder and CEO Maggie Blanks we have established our Foundation on solid principles and to ensure we make the most of our charitable acrtivity Find out more about the charity we support Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund Our Target We set ourselves a fundraising target of 20 000 to tie in with our 20th anniversary and are pleased to have beaten this by raising over 26 000 through a series of events throughout late 2014 and 2015 To achieve this we ve seen teams entering a diverse range of sporting events including Nick s brother cycling from Marseilles to Oxted the London to Brighton Cycle Ride with representatives from our London and Brighton offices a team of four competing in the London Marathon our Carlisle office participating in the Gelt Gladiator and the great Northwood Bake off which was enjoyed by all We

    meet any reasonable costs or loss of rent whilst the property was withdrawn from the market This may apply whether you withdraw from the tenancy or are unable to proceed due to adverse references A deposit is a sum of money taken to be held as security for the performance of the agreement and can be used against any costs or damages at the end of your tenancy as detailed in your agreement Administration Charge We will ask you to pay an administration charge to cover the costs of referencing and initial checks and a contribution towards the preparation of the tenancy agreement and inventory This is a non refundable payment Please note that the administration charge may be payable in instalments however the total amount will not exceed the amount shown above Guarantor If you are a student are unemployed or on a low income you will need a guarantor We will need to carry out reference checks on the guarantor and charge a fee for this and the administrative work we do The guarantor will be asked to read your tenancy agreement and sign a guarantor agreement before the tenancy starts This is a non refundable payment Renewal Charge Tenancies are normally renewed every six months Each time you decide to renew the tenancy for a further fixed term a charge will be made This amount is payable in advance and must be received prior to a new contract being signed Late Payment of Rent We reserve the right to charge a fee for chasing any rents that are received more than three days late from the due date Early release from tenancy If you want to leave the property before the end of the tenancy the landlord may agree to this but may ask you to continue to pay the rent and all household bills until the date a new tenant moves in or your tenancy comes to a natural end whichever is the sooner You may also be asked to pay reasonable costs in re letting the property Mortgage Landlord references We are normally pleased to provide a reference for the above purpose To cover our costs in administration we may charge a fee for this service Check out We may charge a fee for the Check Out appointment If we are unable to complete the agreed Check Out appointment due to unreasonable delays by you on the day of the appointment you may also be charged to cover our reasonable costs Please also note that rent is payable until the day you move out of the property and surrender the keys Arrangement Fee If we need to arrange for any work at the end of the tenancy because of damage to the property caused by you we will charge you an arrangement fee of 10 of the cost of the work This is subject to a minimum charge Overpayment of rent We do not have the authority to cancel your Standing Order at the end
