    to think outside the box and use your unique dimension jumper abilities as you advance through the storyline and overcome obstacles Not only will you have the option to switch to another version of the current area you are in with different physical laws you also have the power to switch to and explore completely different universes There is not only one world but several parallel universes to discover and several of those locations again have different layers and alternate dimensions with different rules Switching from your normal familiar dimension might end up in a Jell O version of the same environment or a low gravity version enabling you to get around an enemy or obstacle you couldn t have gotten around in the normal location Let s say you face a blocked pathway in the forest In a normal game if the pathway is blocked there is hardly ever an option to get passed Specially if the object is in a position you can t reach or you can t move it for one reason or another The Dimension switching enables you to change into an alternate reality of the current plane with different physical laws or environmental influences

  • How Dimensions work together - Oliver and Spike
    very different from each other This doesn t only include having their own inhabitants both friendly and aggressive but also their own fauna and flora and most importantly different unique physical laws These differences can range from helpful to hinderance but if used correctly something that seems like a disadvantage can be turned into an advantage Here are three screenshots of Auria the first world you are going to encounter Auria is made up of three different dimensions Terra Firma Aqual as seen in that order on the screenshots beneath Notice how the pathway and important terrain setup such as trees or rocks are pretty much identical yet they are unique and easily distinguishable Landmarks and paths will help with orienting yourself on where you are on the actual world Remember that the Dimensions exist in the exact same space on the actual world Meaning if you stand on a path on Terra you will appear on the exact same stop on Firma if you dimension jump Now in the case of Firma the Dimension might look slightly different due to happenings in the actual story which influenced the layout of the world This adds an additional layer of complexity

    the game They are also nested into the actual story line which means having to spend a lot of time on a puzzle might hinder you driving the story forward Not a good thing right Still they should provide a fun level of challenge as well We are definitely looking forward to get feedback during GDC We are about to wrap up the GDC Demo Quick Time Event Some fine tuning here and there but all in all the mechanics and cut scenes are in place Again we know not everyone likes QTEs but rest assured that we won t overuse them We think we found some interesting places where they make sense both game play and story line wise The actual boss fight area has gotten another pass with shaders and other things that make it look pweetty Shiny More areas on Firma are being introduced which includes the area with one of our favourite cut scenes involving the Wabas A good opportunity to take a closer look at the little critters We are also working on an easy to use interface for the demo so testers can choose which area mechanics they would like to try out if they are interested in testing something specific The combat has gotten more love with some more action oriented mechanics Did we mention the combat has gotten some more love Oh yeah and the combat has gotten a bit more love Super Yoyo c c c combo breaker And in order for the above to actually be useful we are also working on getting additional monsters into the GDC version After all some of you like to pummel things right Creepy crawlies galore Last but not least more research and work on WiiU Specific Design Ideas Screenshot of that process would
