    game finished with a comprehensive victory for the Ovens girls The team was superbly captained by Emily Coffey Her fellow backs consisting of Sadbh Mc Goldrick Ella Foley and Sophie O Connell snuffed out any danger to our goal The box to box running of midfielders Niamh O Shea and Maeve O Callaghan was a joy to behold while to pinpoint marksmanship of Eimear Murphy Eimear O Donavan Nicole Murphy and Ali Murphy ensured the scores were never in short supply Congratulations to the whole panel Girls panel members Ella Foley Nicole Murphy Allie Murphy Eimear Murphy Eimear O Donovan Meave O Callaghan Sophie O Connell Niamh O Shea Sadbh McGoldrick and Emily Coffey I ndoor Hurling Blitz Champions The 4th class boys played an indoor hurling blitz on an astroturf surface in Blackrock hurling club The panel of players included Conor O Sullivan Owen Beamish Donnchadh Whelton Johnny Galvin Matthew Broderick Alex O Regan Kory Miller Bradley Keane Josh McCarthy and Ryan Hegarty In our first game against Scoil Niocláis goals from Bradley Conor 2 Alex and Kory resulted in a 5 1 win and a great start to the round robin group Our second group game against Beaumount was a much tighter affair with Kory getting an early goal Bradley s late goal secured a semi final spot with a 2 0 win Ballygarvan were next up in the semi final but Ovens were too strong for them and goals from Kory Conor and Bradley 2 sealed a 4 0 win The final against Riverstown was a nip and tuck affair as two evenly matched sides were level at 1 1 with Kory scoring the all important goal With time almost up Kory was fouled and Conor buried the resultant free from a difficult angle Huge celebrations from Ovens almost cost us a goal as most of the players thought time was up Yet Riverstown mounted one last attack only to be foiled by our ever reliable goalkeeper Johnny The boys have now qualified for the county section to be played at a later date Well done to all the panel and their trainers Joe Murphy Michael McCarthy and Shane McCarthy who ve been training the team at luchtimes since Christmas Indoor Camogie Blitz Champions Our 4th class girls participated in the Sciath na Scol divisional indoor camogie blitz in Éire Óg recently For the first time ever we entered two teams and they both did the school proud Our A team won the competition by beating Cloghroe 6 2 in the final and are now through to the county finals Well done to all involved and a special thanks to teachers Colm O Sullivan Joe O Loughlin and Katie McCarthy for all their help training the teams during lunch times for the past number of weeks Ovens abú Teams Emma Healy Emma Digonal Áine Larkin Áine Herlihy Maria O Donovan Ella Scanlan Emily Cremin Myah Desmond Roisin Walsh Niamh McNabola Abi Keegan Emma Murphy Grace O Brien
