    temple the Pashuppatinath temple complex It was a big area with several temples and with the holy Bagmati River crossing right through it At the river bank people where cremating there dead ones and then throwing their ashes in the holy water As we were there there were two funerals going on After walking round a bit we decided to take a rest on a bench to admire the view and suddenly a monkey showed up from nowhere and grabbed Erik s guide book It tore it apart in a few seconds and we where to surprised to chase it away Our last stop was the Tibetan area with a big Buddhist temple Bodnath with a large massive stupa in the middle and houses built in a circle around it whit monastaries workshops and stores selling all sorts of Tibetan arts and crafts We amongst all visited a school for traditional Tibetan painting where we also enjoyed a great lunch After that we said goodbye to our guide and meat up with our mountain guide Diki to check out if we were missing any equipment for the trek and we went to the HRA office The Himalayan Rescue Association to get a briefing about altitude sickness They told us about the do s and don ts in terms of acclimatization measures and how to deal with the symptoms Lesson learned is listen to your body and everything will work out fine When we reach Periche on our trek 4280m we will stop by at their hospital and have a quick chat and check our status Check out their website at www himalayanrescue org After that Diki took us to her sponsor a local Nepalese brand Everest hard ware to buy a down jacket for Fanny We visited their factory store
