  • Silly
    in turn see something she should see I say That s Cool So I ask her when she says that sometimes it is silly but sometimes it is cool what you want me to see She looks and ponders the car goes along we pass something she likes wants me to see That s Cool I agree it was cool colorful creative unusual which is what I mean by cool Later we pass something else from the back she hoots That s silly It was and grandpa smiles Next month 4Y O time races by faster than a speeding 3 YO and that s fast Here are a few moments from recently for me but long ago for her There is little time to linger as there is something new something always comes next The first real haircut with Jason at Jamie Lee and Company She sat very still and the bangs are not in here eyes We played with the kitties looked at the art and laughed while mom had her hair cut In September we were meeting mom downtown she noticed the shadows and I talked about how at the end of the day shadows grew fast Standing for a few minutes we watched them increase in length Take a picture grandpa It was cool Boo Bash at The Hands On Children s Museum where she was a Penguin We sat for a picture in a giant chair now that s silly There were snakes and lizards to pet and a real Herpetologist to meet Turtles a Hissing Madagascan Cockroach a glow in the dark tee shirt to make Something always comes next Grandpa grandpa she squeals above the din of 300 kids racing from event to event so much to see and do To touch she wants to touch everything it is a way of understanding the world around tactile communication The movies she watches the books she reads Mostly Nat Geo or Nova Science videos documentaries it is plain that people are a boring animal Ahwooo she howls I am Trancern the king of the wolves enjoy pjc Photographic Art Filed Under Adventure Events Eyes of the child Late light Olympia Wa Silly Smiling Eyes The Present Waning light Tagged With Ambiance Blending the past and the present Color Fine Art Olympia Portraits Shadows New Haven Room to Move July 7 2013 By Peter J Crowley Leave a Comment Forty one years ago I lived a few block from here 10 years ago and the prior 10 or so years I worked at the SCSU Theater Dept In June I was back as a visitor As I sit at the keyboard I remember the New Haven chapter of my life My daughter was born there now she is a mommy too and I m a very happy grandpa A rich man in the art of seeing documenting life 1 250th of a second and an 8 10 traveling back creates many stories Some I ll tell

  • Smiling Eyes

  • Great Food
    21 2016 By Peter J Crowley Leave a Comment Yesterday my phone rings round four Kirsten says they are going to the market but Tancern insists I come with them So a while later we are off to the library followed by Freddy s The wolf is unusually quiet till the library not the usual library so there is much to explore Bats Bugs NF the usual choices A step stool to stand and look at the diorama of a castle with animals Disney characters Muppets Arriving at the market she slows down as we go through the second doors she turns with that look speaking softly serious a great idea Mom why don t you go and shop and grandpa and I will go and have a scone So that s the deal two hours ago she thought a scone sounded good She is sharp thinking ahead Another scone thoroughly enjoyed by her and the chair at Batdorf s We arrive there are four kinds of scones A selection made she heads to find today s comfy chair She uses her best indoor voice to Howl AHHwooo I howl back Sitting she eats her scone it explodes all over most finds her mouth There is a fireplace she curls up on the rug and digs into her backpack An orange my turn Actually it is a tangerine She agrees I start to peel but only a start I can do this A napkin laid out to keep the peels on the peels and fruit become a butterfly arranged on the floor are the feet tasting the napkin The peels become a humming bird Grandpa their wings move very fast yet the bird doesn t move Yep Cleaning up we take the peels to the bus bin I can reach not quite the peels cascade to the floor and our laughter fills the room We clean up The food court after lunch at four your feet rarely touch the ground Two pieces of pizza and lets go to Menchies Frozen yogurt and toppings Arriving she shows me all the varieties grandpa you take these little cups to taste She seems to be heading behind the counter the clerk says Inara knows how it is done The theme from Cheers in my head It continues playing as she realizes someone is sitting at her table The new swing set if you can t be running it is the next best thing Like the speed in the mall life races along An interview at Kindergarten is she ready confident Asked her name she says Inara followed by But my Wolf Name is Tancern She is there starting in fall A book of puzzles at the market 10 minutes before leaving at check out we are done the first five Each day a buffet of new adventures Photographic Art Filed Under Adventure Adventures with Grandpa Eyes of the child Faces Food Frivolity Kids Olympia Wa Tagged With Great Food Olympia Small Business New
