tube and the starter have to go Stern used a very cheap interlock method to hold the tube in place on this model Pushing up on the brown piece of card on the tube holder allows the tube to slide out while twisting the starter in an anti clockwise direction unlocks it so it can be lifted out Tube and starter gone Our work is not finished here though as we also need to remove the two white tube mounts one on each end completely These are held in with a single bolt each Removing the right hand tube mount Once they have been unbolted the mounts can be put behind the bracket to which they were bolted This keeps them out of the way and makes it easy to reinstate them if you ever need to The right hand mount removed and stowed The same with the left side Now we install the Lightning board mounting posts These are designed to fit into the same bolt holes we ve just vacated Clever eh The right hand Lightning board mounting post One nut goes behind the bracket on the end of the post s thread the second goes on the other side of the bracket to ensure the post is securely held in place We ve put the wing nut and the two washers on the post just to keep everything together They will need to be removed before the board is fitted Next we laid the Lightning board on the playfield glass on top of the display panel The bubble wrap is still on it at this stage so nothing should get damaged With the board in place we can disconnect the plugs on the power and CPU boards and hook in the new connectors There are three connectors on the power board to unhook J6 J7 and J15 J6 and J7 are at the bottom right corner while J15 is at the top left J6 and J7 are disconnected The CPU board s plug needing disconnecting is CN2 which is right next to J15 on the power board J15 is arrowed at the bottom CN2 is arrowed at the top The appropriate pass through connectors from the Lightning board are plugged into the power and CPU boards J6 and J7 have their new connectors attached and the original connectors plugged onto the new header pins J6 and J7 are completed So are J15 and CN2 Not all models use the same connectors so be sure to check the instructions and the labels on the pass through connectors to make sure you have the right ones J6 is the same in German Those are all the connections which need to be made so now we can do one of two things either tidy up all the various cables we ve just added and make everything neat and tidy or forget that and just try it out We can tidy up later Removing the wing nut and one of the

more focused on classic pinball design with sexy women and plenty of earthy humour in a completely different style of artwork package Another difference is how Spooky Pinball will not be taking pre orders or trying to raise start up funding Instead Charlie will fund the initial development and manufacture himself He will make the machines in small batches of 25 which will be sold with a 50 deposit taken at the time of order and shipping taking place within 60 days Pinball News asked Charlie why he decided to enter the increasingly crowded world of pinball making He told us First and foremost we ve got incredible friends and support from people in the right places Ben Heck Dennis Terry at Pinball Life Michael at Flipper Fidelity and a cast of locals that could build a rocket to Mars if the world would let them and we might Art metal fab plastics cabinets playfields programming it s all there We ll be doing all our own printing as well With the right people with the right skills what we wondered will make Spooky Pinball s machines different from those produced by all the other companies now in the pinball manufacturing business Charlie explained What we re going to offer are games at a great price that the average pinball guy can manage They will look incredible have plenty to do on the playfield and have a fresh take on art and style that hasn t been seen in pinball before Kind of a mix of early 80s originality with 90s game play but we have no guides we have to follow We won t reinvent pinball we re just going to make games that are meant to be played by men that will act like teenagers every chance they

in Japan during the Easter holidays My last but one pinball location was the Mono Mania Shopping Centre The Mono Mania Shopping Centre This shopping centre is located in an industrial area of the city of Asahi which was some distance away from central Nagoya The entrance to the shopping centre Although the pinball was hidden away in a small corner of a trendy clothes store inside the shopping centre it was not difficult for me to find it Data East s Rocky Bullwinkle The appearance of the pinball was quite good and in general its working condition was acceptable although the two flippers were not powerful enough The machine s backbox I played this pinball for sixty minutes The playfield The prices of products in this shopping centre were quite low since most of them were second hand The variety of products was quite wide including items such as shoes clothes handbags and various electrical appliances The store with the pinball As I have discovered these kinds of shopping centres are quite popular in Japan since its economy has been depressed for many years Here are some additional details Location name Risaikuru Autoretto Mono Mania Address 691 1 Transportation
