early days we asked Dennis if he has any themes or playfield features in mind yet He replied As I begin to understand the capabilities of Gerry s platform I m thinking of new ways to use it One thing it will not be is another video pin This is going to be a unique exciting experience for pinball players I will make sure that it has plenty of pinball action enhanced by the interactive LCD screen I love stretching my brain around new ways to do things and discovering all the new ideas and challenges that await on this journey I ve already thought of some new things to do with the game that Gerry is excited about Stay tuned because this is gonna be a fun ride Gerry and the team believe joining forces with Dennis is the ideal way to ensure the traditional pinball aspect of the P 3 platform is both maintained and expanded Gerry explained how Dennis was the ideal choice Since our philosophy is centered around introducing new technology without losing the physical interactions and traditional layouts that define pinball we thought it was important to add an accomplished industry veteran to the team Dennis is an absolutely perfect fit He s well known for his creativity his willingness to take risks and for design variety Giving him the freedom to implement new games for the P 3 will hopefully challenge him to continue thinking outside the box and result in games that blow everybody away I can t express how excited we are to have Dennis on the team After Pinball Expo Gerry Brandon and Les visited two more events with the P 3 prototype The first was the Game On Austin video game developer get together which showcased local Austin programming and design talent The P 3 attracted a lot of interest there too P 3 at the Game On Austin event picture Multimorphic Eight days later the Multimorphic team were in Houston for the Houston Area Arcade Group s Arcade Expo show Gerry described the team s experiences at the two events Houston was much smaller than PPE and Expo but we still enjoyed the chance to introduce the machine to more people and get their reactions The Game On Austin event was a different beast altogether In fact the vendors were mostly video game developers and the attendees were mostly video game players This was our first chance to see if a new innovative pinball machine with some video elements could interest general gamers and the answer was a resounding YES We had a never ending line of people waiting to play and quite a few of them expressed their appreciation for and interest in a modern pinball machine Visitors travelled from far far away to play at Arcade Expo picture Multimorphic Our last report on the P 3 also reported the opening of pre orders for a Special Edition model There were a number of incentives such as a

I took a cab to my last pinball location in the city the Elbo Room bar a 15 minute ride away The Elbo Room bar on Valencia and Sycamore The entrance to Elbo Room I arrived there at around 7pm and surprisingly it was already full of customers There was a single vintage video game and five pinballs located in a hidden corner of the bar but it wasn t too difficult to find them The pinballs at Elbo Bar I was initially excited since I had never seen an Independence Day before The Independence Day at the Elbo Room ID4 s playfield However I was disappointed when I started playing Why Because it tilted severely to the left and the ball always tended to run towards the left outlane This was because the machine was placed on a wooden raised floor but the floor couldn t sustain its weight This also happened to other four pinballs The five pinballs at Elbo Room It was exactly the same situation as the two pinballs at Lori s Diner You can imagine how disappointed I was In the end I only stayed in the bar for thirty minutes Here are the details

Chinatown in San Francisco It took me around 20 minutes to get from China Town to the Metreon It wasn t a difficult walk for us since the temperature was around 15 C The Metreon shopping mall The Metreon is a shopping centre with a cinema on the top floor Based on my limited information I only knew that some pinballs might be on the top floor of this building When I first arrived at the top floor I found a small video game corner there Logically the pinballs should have been there However they were not there as expected Without any other options I made one last search of the top floor before giving up Luckily I found seven pinball machines located in a hidden area opposite the game corner Seven pinballs at the Metreon There was nobody playing pinballs so I could play any I wanted Batman Indiana Jones The Sopranos and Spider Man Pirates of the Caribbean The Lord of the Rings and The Simpsons Pinball Party The conditions of the pinballs were good and it was easy to get high scores and replays Another high score I continued playing pinballs there until my wife forced me

from American Pool I found another location in Hong Kong with pinball machines It is called the Aberdeen Marina Club AMC The Aberdeen Marina Club AMC is a private club facility and is only open to its members and their guests This summer I visited the Club with one of its members Aberdeen Marina with the Club at the bottom There were two Shrek pinball machines at the bowling centre of AMC I wonder why they acquired two pinballs with the same title The two Shrek machines The playfields of the two Shrek pinballs were a little bit dirty and it seemed they had not called the pinball operator for any regular maintenance work Shrek Fortunately the flippers were still powerful enough The replay scores were very low so it only cost me a few tens of Hong Kong dollars HK 10 US 1 30 to play pinball for the whole afternoon Shrek 2 One of the high scores on Shrek There were many facilities inside AMC including a bar a bowling alley a gym ice skating a swimming pool a game centre snooker and restaurants More games at AMC More games at AMC More games at AMC More games
