  • Finn Jones Reveals How He Thinks Game of Thrones Will End
a huge war at the end between ice and fire There will be different factions and when that fight is going on they will realise that they have to fight the White Walkers They will run out of Valyrian steel and they will realise that the throne has got Valyrian steel in it so they have to melt down the throne physically absolve it as well as politically and they will have to use that steel to battle the White Walkers But then they will still all fail and the two elements will crush each other Like a phoenix out of the ashes the children of the forest will come and help regenerate Westeros and give power back to the people And there will be like a small council with all the good guys like Tyrion Brienne Hodor Bran all the good people Will your character be on the council Erm the thing with the Tyrells is when it comes to magic elements I think they are going to fail massively They haven t got any experience with anything other worldly They know how to play the political game but I think they will be pretty screwed when it comes to dragons and White Walkers Have you spoken to George R R Martin about your theory No but I think it is quite a good theory I think I am pretty much on the money It would be a good way to end it in my opinion Have you read the books Yeah I have read the books I am deeply involved with the story I love it to bits It will be interesting to see what happens They will run out of Valyrian steel and they will realise that the throne has got Valyrian steel in it so they have to melt down the throne Finn Jones Advertising You also work as a DJ I have been doing it for a long time like 5 6 years professionally maybe two years It kind of started off as a hobby It is a huge passion of mine and it is growing into something that I can go out and do and make a bit of money off and actually create really good parties I love it It is nice to do something creative which isn t acting It is nice to take your head away from that sometimes and just focus on another creative aspect of yourself And I love music I love bringing people together I like transforming the environment It is nice What music genres are you into I have got a DJ playlist on Soundcloud if you want to check it out I like house and techno I like a lot of old disco Good music with heart and a soul How did you approach your character Ser Loras Tyrell I have read all of the books and then just played the truth of the scene really I did a lot of research into what knights behaved

become harder Still it s not a natural position to be in You lose some parts of your privacy It can be daunting at times How do you think Jon Snow would cope in the media maelstrom We are quite similar There s a lot of Jon in me We re both introverted people Is acting the right kind of job for an introvert When you do publicity you appear as yourself and have to lose some introvertedness But I got into acting when I was a kid My mother was a playwright and took me and my brother to the theater a lot Then I ended up doing it at school and college When it came to choosing a university I decided I wanted to go for it head on At drama school I knew this is what I wanted to do as a profession There s nothing I d rather do than get paid for swinging a sword What scares you I hate needles I ve always wanted to give blood but I just can t do it Also I m bad at getting on planes and I can t stand spiders What do you do when you have to get on a flight I have a few glasses of wine to calm the nerves But it s getting worse as I get older Culture The Mother of Dragons GoT Special Emilia Clarke talks about life as Daenerys Targaryen Culture Melisandre and Davos GoT Special Liam Cunningham Carice van Houten talk Game of Thrones I hate needles I m bad at getting on planes and I can t stand spiders I have to get someone to move them Kit Harington What about your fear of spiders do you kill them No I hate killing anything I can t bear it They re probably more scared of me than I am of them I have to get someone to move them What would you do if you and an equally scared woman were in a room with a spider I find most women have far more backbone than I have So do you ever act in a courageous way Not with these little things But when it comes to really scary situations I stay calm I m a bit like my dad He s very good in emergencies When we were kids we went out sailing and got caught in a freak storm My brother and I were terrified and Dad must have been too but he stayed cool He doesn t ever raise his voice I like to think if I was put in a situation where I had to be heroic I would be Have you ever tested that I once stood up for a girl s honor in McDonald s A guy started insulting the girl I was with so I told him to get up and he was easily a foot taller than I was It didn t end well for me Heroism is stupidity

  • GoT Special: Jessica Henwick and Rosabell Laurenti Sellers
into the Dornish spirit We are definitely characters who would not wash because that would be a waste of time for us Rosabell Laurenti Sellers Can you tell us a little bit about the locations of Dorne Where did you shoot JH We filmed in Belfast and Portstewart in Northern Ireland Split in Croatia RL And Sevilla in Spain JH Great locations all so different But it is interesting how they all look on screen RL Yeah I was really suprised Portstewart looks like Spain which is incredible And in Spain we were shooting in the Alcazar Palace We had this massive palace just for us closed off to everyone No tourists And we could just wander through it JH In Portstewart we had to stop filming because it started to rain And in Sevilla we had to stop filming because it is too hot But I feel really fortunate to have seen all of these places because if you talk to the guys on the Wall they are just stuck in Belfast all the time RL Or Iceland JH Whereas we got to travel around and eat tapas and drink sangrias We had a ball There are very strong female characters on the show Dou you feel you have tough competition in that realm JH There are lots of strong females on the show but this is the first time I think we are really seeing strong females working together That s so different And it is really rare on tv not just fantasy I mean we buck horns sometimes RL but we don t really compete We are all on the same side fighting for the same thing That is really nice Rosabell Laurenti Sellers plays Tyene Sand in season 5 of Game of Thrones HBO Do you think about the show differently now that you are playing in it JH Yeah I am a big fan of the show So when I got the episodes on the one hand you are like This is massive I am so happy I am in Game of Thrones On the other hand you are like Oh no Now I get spoilers So I only read my scenes I didn t read the other scenes So I am going to watch the show like the rest of the audience But it didn t really work as I pretty much know what happens because theses guys points at Rosabell spoiled everything RL Laughs We read it JH Well I mean I have read the books as well so I knew what we were getting into but the TV series is very different RL I didn t know Game of Thrones that much before getting the part So I watched it knowing that I was going to be in it So I already saw it through a different perspective Why has it become such a phenomenon JH I think it filled a hole in the market People were sort of wanting something of

  • GoT Special: Iain Glen and Nathalie Emmanuel
Is there a complete language NE I think so From what I understand I think our producers David Benioff and Dan Weiss were telling me that they went to a linguist society and said We are making a language for a tv show based on these books And everyone put in their ideas But I have spoken with him a couple of times and people ask him questions like phrases How do you say this in Dothraki Or how do you say this in Valyrian And he is like Hang on I haven t made up that word yet But he will eventually There is a formula as to how to say that word based on a word that is already made up It is not just like Oh I am going to call it this There is a real formula to it and a real structure What happens is he sends me these lines in English what they want me to say and then he ll send it in Valyrian IG With the recording on how to pronounce it NE Yeah he says it how it is supposed to be said like fluently IG With quite an american accent Laughs NE With a little bit of an American accent laughs And then he records it syllable by syllable and then I have write it down phonetically too So that s kind of how I learn it But as the season has gone on I have definitely sort of picked up things and recognize words I can learn it much faster now because it has a rhythm and a formula to it So when you have a line or a sentence in Dothrakian you know what you are saying NE I can pretty much work it out now But sometimes they tell us as well Especially if you are doing something that s emotional It is good from an acting point of view to know what word is what to place emphasis on it When I did season 3 I spent a lot of time with the actor who played Kraznys mo Nakloz on this Once I knew what he was saying it felt much more natural It s challenging because it is not a real language so there is no point of reference How will Missandei s relationship with Greyworm develop in Season 5 HBO Iain the show is known for its uncompromising portrayal of sex and violence Do you think it is important that it is unflinching And do you ever worry that it might be going over the top IG I don t worry about it going over the top It is part of trying to create this plausible piece of imagined history and I think most people who watch the series have a feeling that it could have happened at that time The politics could have been practiced in that way The sort of divide between the various dynasties could have manifested itself in that way

  • Emilia Clarke “I’m going to be victorious”
well as taming dragons as Daenerys you re playing Sarah Connor in Terminator Genisys Do you consider yourself a badass I m a very long way from the characters I play In day to day life I don t get the chance to tame dragons or fight robots I think that the hardest and most badass thing you can do as a woman is just accept who you are and be happy with it Culture Melisandre and Davos GoT Special Liam Cunningham Carice van Houten talk Game of Thrones Advertising So you ve never tamed dragons Have you tamed any other animals Cockroaches Many moons ago I lived in a house that had cockroaches and funnily enough I befriended one of them I named him Bob When the HBO series Game Of Thrones began in April 2011 Emilia Clarke became a star overnight HBO What became of him He s no longer with us Daenerys went from naive girl to accomplished ruler in the same way you ve gone from roach tamer to star I like the parallel Before Game Of Thrones I was working in catering That s when I was living with Bob Have you retained your catering skills Could you whip up some lunch now I could serve up some really good champagne and canapés What was the driving force behind your choice of career I m convinced that if you want something long enough and you focus on it and don t give up it ll happen Ever since the age of tiny I ve wanted to be an actress I appeared in the musical Showboat when I was three and it was like I d been hypnotised Not long after that I saw Audrey Hepburn in My Fair Lady and became completely obsessed with her I watched that film every day for two years How did an unknown like yourself land a part in Game Of Thrones I d finished drama school the year before and I auditioned for the part I didn t have much experience but I had plenty of enthusiasm And they took me It was a bit of a whirlwind really like an amazing fairy tale Was your first time on set a daunting experience I once lived in a house that had cockroaches and funnily enough I befriended one of them I named him bob Emilia Clarke Learning the language of the Dothraki was difficult for starters And while I m a huge fan of horse riding doing it on camera is a totally different matter I get really scared in those kind of situations When you ve got so much equipment around the set that could easily get destroyed by an idiot actor on a horse it s worrying And of course in my first scene I was riding a horse which made it even more intimidating There was a huge amount of fear leading up to it but it was the same as having nerves in the wings

  • GoT Special - Newcomers Alexander Siddig and DeObia Oparei talk Dorne
live for their brothels but they do it behind closed doors in darkened holes and dungeons In Dorne it is right upfront and centre And as far as colours go it is beyond comparison We shot parts of season 5 in the Alcàzar Palace in Spain It is a feast of the eye in terms of architectural design where the moorish kind of muslim like mosaics meet western art The marble work is just fantastic I am sure we are going to see that And then there are the characters themselves You had the hot headed very colorful character of Oberyn Pedro s performance was amazing and he set the scene of what Dorne should be like We see that come out in the new characters as well Advertising How did you prepare for the part in terms of Hedonism and Dorne DO Well in terms of my past there is a licentiousness in terms of saying where I came from was a very stoic very disciplined ordered world I was a classical theatre actor going from play to play at the Arc Theatre and the National theatre and different theatre companies in the country and I got to 22 23 and I was like I need to live I am living in a rehearsal room I dont know what life is And so I went on tour to Sydney when I was 22 and I said I want live here but not as an actor I want to discover life So I became a stripper I became a dancer I learned how to write I became a drag queen and I lived this broad brushstroke throw the paint at the canvas lifestyle It really did benefit me as an actor because when I came back into film my first role was Moulin Rouge and suddenly I was a different person I think the world of Dorne is very much like that Areo is a more restrained character but he is still bridling in that energy and that anger and that force It is great for me to play a character like Areo who is stoic and represses that primal urge so that when he does wield his axe it is exacting Meet the Sand Snakes In season 5 of Game of Thrones we will get to know Oberyn Martell s daughters Alex you spent seven years on Star Trek Deep Space nine which was a huge show for its time Did you jump on board immediately when you got the offer to do GoT another massive show AS I was so happy to do this show Let s not beat around the bush This is good for an actor and I love the show I have seen Pedro Pascal do his thing I have watched those scenes like 50 times And I watched it all backwards I watched season 4 first season 3 season 2 and season 1 I thought it was just great I thought the writing had
