  • Spring blog 2013 - Ross Ainslie
    was delighted to be asked to play on 23rd April with Jarlath Henderson Ali Hutton and Duncan Lyall Also on the bill were Sarah Hayes with Fiona MacAskill and Jen Austin and Kristan Harvey with Sean Grey It s a great night well done to David Foley for putting it together Here s some pics from the night I had another gig in Stereo two days later this time with Treacherous Orchestra and we were showcasing some of our new material Was great to have flute guru Bo Jingham back for some gigs Here s a pic Knoydart festival was up next for Treacherous and we played on Sunday survivor day 27th April there s no easy way to get to Knoydart but well worth the trip I just wish we went up for the whole festival We finished the festival and the crowd were on great form Here s some pics May started off with a gig in Dufftown at the Glenfiddich Distillery with Treacherous Orchestra on 4th May We had a nice wee gig supported by newly formed band Gria Here s some pics Next I was on tour with Salsa Celtica we had a run of 8 gigs in Scotland and England The band has been working on some new material for our fourth studio album so was great to get out and play the tunes live Here s a video from our Stirling gig In between the tour I went up to Dunkeld on 22nd to join Dougie and Jenny Maclean and play some tunes for the launch of the Perthshire Amber festival it was great to see everyone again I also managed to pass my driving test Here s some pics of the launch and also with Fraser Stone drummer driving instructor salesman So into June now and it started with a gig with Dougie Maclean and Pete Garnett in Lennoxlove House Dougie had his camper with him so was great to set up camp and rehearse outside It s always a good gig with Dougie and the audience were fantastic Cheers to Jenny for cooking us some amazing food from the camper Here s a pic This week I ve been in Castlesound studios recording with Salsa Celtica We ve managed to get all the backing done and its sounding amazing back in next week to record all the melody instruments Here s a pic of engineer Stuart Hamilton and producer Calum Malcolm I m looking forward to a gig in Birnam tomorrow with Mike Bryan and Wee Gordon Duncan then off to Arran folk festival on Saturday with my trio I ve a really busy summer ahead so I ll be posting updates as I go hope your all well All the best Ross Facebook Twitter E mail Post navigation Previous BBC Radio 2 Festival in a Day Next Solo Album One thought on Spring blog 2013 Becky says June 7 2013 at 9 33 pm Hey there Ross Thank you for the
