    usually indicates that the report settings for the store have not been configured yet so you are seeing information about traffic and sales in other stores not your own store Click Configure Reports on the Reports screen and follow the help for that screen to make sure that your reports are configured correctly How do I clear the reports and statistics counters Click Configure Reports on the Reports screen and then click the buttons for clearing counters and logs What do those numbers on the Hosts Summary mean The Hosts Summary shows you which servers and domains customers were at before coming to your store If ShopSite cannot determine the name of a server it displays the IP address How do I add a hit counter to my store so that I know how many people have visited ShopSite reports show both the number of hits and visitors to your store so you shouldn t need to add a hit counter If you want to add a hit counter anyway the specific instructions for each vary somewhat Most require you to paste some HTML into your page and you can use the Text 3 field on your store s main

    built in benefits and you can offer additional enticements ShopSite will automatically store shipping addresses used by registered customers and they can easily select any of those addresses on future orders to save time Additionally customers can select to have ShopSite remember their payment methods credit card type and number so that they don t have to enter that information on each order ShopSite also keeps a record of a customer s orders and the customer can view previous orders at any time As the merchant you can entice customers to register by offering them coupon discounts When you assign a registered customer to a group and add one or more coupons to that group the customers in that group will automatically get those coupons put into their cart each time they sign in How do I find a particular registered customer s information The main Customer Registration screen includes search controls that you can use to find one or more registered customers which can really be helpful when you have thousands of registered customers Simply set the search parameters such as Last name is smith and click the Search button If you want your search results to be displayed as move in and out of the main Customer Registration screen check the Remember Search box If you do not check the box your search results will not be displayed when you return to the main Customer Registration screen How do I put registered customers into groups There are two ways to put registered customers into groups First all customers are automatically put into the default group when they register at your store you can see which group is the default group Second you can manually assign customers to a group To specify the default group for newly registered customers go to the main Customer Registration screen and click Groups Click on the name of the group that you want to become the default and click the Default button To manually assign customers to a group start at the main Customer Registration screen You can either click the List All button to see all registered customers or set some search parameters and click the Search button to see a subset of customers Once you have the list that you want select the customers that you want to assign to a specific group you can select more than one by holding down the Ctrl key while you click Next click the Assign to Group button The Assign to Group screen displays a list of the customers that you selected including which groups they are currently assigned to Select a group from the drop down list then click Save to assign the customers to the new group How do I assign unassign coupons to a group You can assign coupons to a group to entice customers to register at your store or return to shop For example you could run a registration special and offer customers 5 off all purchases until a

    Registration templates These templates control the screens and e mail messages for the features identified in the respective template name Includes Include files can contain additional template content used within any other template file type Typically these are frequently used content such as Stylesheets JavaScript or template fragments used in multiple different template files File Management Tools Within each category there are sections for managing each individual type of Custom Template file The file management section includes the following tools File List Select the file you want to manage from the list then click one of the management buttons to the right Edit Template Select a file from the list on the left then click this button to edit the template This is an easy way to make quick changes to a template without having to upload the file If you are making significant changes it may be easier to download the file and edit it using your preferred HTML editing tool Copy Template Select a file from the list on the left then click this button to copy the template to a new file with a different name You can use this option to easily make changes to a template without losing the original template Delete Template Select a file from the list on the left then click this button to delete the template When you delete a template the file is removed from your server If you are using the template anywhere in your store you will need to select a new template to use Preview Shopping Cart only Select a file from the list on the left then click this button to preview what the Shopping Cart screen would look like using the selected template The preview uses your Shopping Cart settings and a dummy product Upload Template Click this button to upload a Custom Template to your store This allows you to create and modify template files using your preferred HTML editor then upload them to your server New Template Click this button to create a new Custom Template in your store The new template will have the defines used in that template but nothing else Copy ShopSite Template Click this button to copy a built in ShopSite template This lets you view the Custom Template source for the built in templates and make changes to customize the template for use on your store For information about what s included in each built in template and some tips on customizing them see Built In Templates Explained Using a Custom Template ShopSite allows you to select the template you want to use for each part of your store from that section s Layout settings screen The list of available templates in the selection box includes all templates of the appropriate type ShopSite s built in templates are listed alphabetically first then your Custom Templates are listed alphabetically afterwards If you have uploaded a template file with the same name as a built in template only your file
