  • Revering Randy - Steffan Antonas
know him personally I was saddened to read the news that Randy died yesterday His lecture which made him a YouTube celebrity in 2007 was heart warming and inspiring and his book moved me to tears several times Among the many strong messages delivered in the lecture Randy s encouragement of parents to revisit their priorities particularly their relationships with their children was especially noteworthy and it was great to see the lecture have such a huge impact on internet communities and in popular media The video tape of Randy s lecture on Sept 18 2007 in the McConomy Auditorim included below is such a great example of how one person can have a positive impact on millions over 4 million views and counting Published July 26 2008 Author Steffan Antonas Category Uncategorized Tags Videos Published by Steffan Antonas To the readers of this blog This post like all the others should be thought of as the start of a conversation so please share your ideas by joining in the discussion If you do please adhere to the following commenting rules 1 Be Cool no flaming and no spamming All inappropriate comments will be deleted 2 If you must curse

  • What It Takes To Be A Starbucks Die-Hard - Steffan Antonas
15 minutes of caffeinated heaven has had the pleasure of witnessing a die hard order their favorite ultra customized coffee cocktail and perhaps broken out in laughter This morning s die hard prize for most obnoxiously detailed order goes to the Venti Half Caf Non Fat Vanilla Latte Extra Hot With Two Pumps of Caramel no water The entire line heard it and tuned into what was going on because the woman holding the pocket poodle had to repeat it 3 times The poor girl taking the order had a mini meltdown and then tried to recover by staring blankly at the cash register buttons in an attempt to try and parse all the information It was total system overload I had the biggest smile on my face it was one of those moments that Julie and I would have appreciated together in gleeful silence Until you get to the point where you re ordering drinks that require 2 or 3 Starbucks employees to stop what they re doing and make an assembly line sorry you re just a regular Published November 1 2007 Author Steffan Antonas Category Uncategorized Comments 5 Comments Published by Steffan Antonas To the readers of this blog This post like all the others should be thought of as the start of a conversation so please share your ideas by joining in the discussion If you do please adhere to the following commenting rules 1 Be Cool no flaming and no spamming All inappropriate comments will be deleted 2 If you must curse please do so with style and taste 3 Put your URL in the website field and not in the comment box Finally If you liked this article please consider sharing it on del icio us StumbleUpon or Digg I d appreciate it Post

  • Design Archives - Steffan Antonas
a previous post that open social development for products has been a getting a lot of press lately Companies are learning that true customer insight starts by including customers and users in the development stage Getting prototypes into the hands of your potential customers early on and iterating a ton based on the feedback you get can pay huge dividends in the long run but only if the feedback you get is good One key insight can greatly improve your chances of getting what you want from your guinea pigs When it comes to prototypes more is virtually always better One prototype is a solid start it s better than nothing and has some value The trouble however with showing someone just one idea and asking them what they think is that their answer is likely going to be tainted by what they think about you because you ve presented an idea that you ve obviously committed to If they are a friend or simply want to develop rapport with you they ll likely respond positively regardless of whether idea has true merit The opposite is often true if you suggest a single idea to someone who doesn t like
