can shift her physical shape and become part of another dreamer s dream How do you know that you re not a shape shifter in one form or another Maybe you simply don t remember what you are dreaming Ruby elbowed me in the ribs The secret is that all of us are shape shifters but some of us know it and some of us don t She reached over and with a swipe erased the spiral That s kind of what she did she said meaning Twin Dreamers How can I help you understand yourself as a shape shifter My teachers always give me a task to learn by experience These tasks help me to bring extraordinary concepts like shape shifting into ordinary reality All of us in our own ways shape shifts when we set our intent to change something whether it is to buy a car change careers redesign a room or even to execute an exercise regime At some level we have to dream to see in a new way To do that we move out of form we create a new paradigm But those aren t always the easiest things to do because change holds up many mirrors Arion the magnificent stallion who carried me between the worlds in Star Woman was a great teacher for me He held up many mirrors painful mirrors the most difficult mirrors of all for me to look into But with the help of my teachers Twin Dreamers Agnes Whistling Elk and Ruby Plenty Chiefs I was able to look into those mirrors in a way that lead me towards enlightenment And that is what I am trying to do for you because these mirrors are so important and we all need our teachers In the story I describe the dream when Arion carried me to the four goddesses They are the mirrors which we absolutely must find the courage and the willingness to look into if we would become enlightened the bone goddess of our fears which we give life to every time we refuse to look at our fears when we become so closely identified with our fears that we need them to survive the goddess of our death which is found in the way we move and sometimes don t move through life situations the goddess of our undirected thoughts which we meet when we wallow in our sorrows or indulge ourselves in mindless daydreams without any intent whatsoever depleting ourselves of all our vitality and the goddess of our manipulations and tricks which in so many respects determines whether we are moving towards enlightenment with our intent or whether we are moving further away from it through our manipulations and tricks I urged you to turn to The Power Deck to help you learn how to look into those mirrors and find the movement that is waiting for you within In The Power Deck book there is an exercise in working with fear which I

It is very difficult to live without judgement when you see great wrongs being enacted all around you But perhaps Great Spirit has a different frame of reference and is teaching humanity about evolvement To evolve we must grow Oftentimes human beings need pain to move us out of our ennui and into the highest realms of consciousness Our society wears certain masks of power in the world condition Each of us has many masks hidden away in our closet We become the activist with one mask and we become the breadwinner with another We are loving and kind with another mask We wear masks to fit into worlds that do not belong to us It seems as if the most important thing in life is to wear a mask that people will accept and not be challenged by This could be called the celebration of the mediocre For me to speak to you about compassion or love or higher learning I first must examine your masks When I work with an apprentice I find that often you don t know when you are wearing a mask If you were abused as a child and there was no one to hear your pain or give you love you wear masks to cover who you really are Before true decisions in your life can be made you must design your own mask of power that holds the essence and expresses the integrity of your own truth Masks and mask making have been sacred throughout history If you put on the mask of someone else or of a god or goddess figure suddenly you become someone else It is a great adventure It is great fun to play on the stage of life But it is essential to know what mask you are wearing and to know when you take them off To design a mask of power with your partner or your children or your friends helps them to understand you as well as giving insight into relationships Because of the lack of ceremony in our lives mask making has become to many people like child s play But to discover the hidden selves within you is to grow profoundly I want to extend an invitation to all of you to participate in my next Online Course Face of Power Unveiling the Mask of your Sacred Self For those of you who are interested in the expansion of goodness in the world and the peace in your own heart that reflects everywhere in the world around you like prisms of light shining like rainbows through a crystal this Online Course will give you a window into this world of inner peace and harmony This is a time for you to expand your awareness Each and every one of us is responsible for the pain and the joy in the world This is a time to devote your energies to the evolvement of your own spirit for there is much that we

point and some people seemingly forever spend far too much of our time caught in the east west juggernaut of mind and emotion going back and forth between what I think andhow I feel about what you say and do whether or not it has anything at all to do with me Back and forth back and forth back and forth indefinitely Nothing can trigger emotional excess quite like the mind and all of the things it can conjure And nothing quite gets the mind spinning out of control like good old emotional excess We can keep the mind chatter and emotional fallout going until we are collapsed in exhaustion and still it goes on Or we find ourselves living entirely in the south in the world of manifestation getting so caught up in busy work and taking care of everything and everyone around us that we forget completely and totally about our own very precious selves about our own veryprecious lives Until one day we find ourselves holding on to a really bad situation with every ounce of strength that we have white knuckling our way through life Strength and endurance reside in the north in the place of spirit and wonderful attributes they are But can you see how devastating they can become if we are not balanced all the way around the Sacred Wheel living from our center in balance and harmony in each of the four directions Everyone s life is being in a trap Agnes Whistling Elk once said to me But this is especially true of women I am teaching you the ways of an escape artist how to remove yourself from your own delusions For a woman there are many predators I am teaching you more than simply how to run and hide I am teaching you how to make your stand And one of the very best ways to make your stand is to bring the Sacred Wheel into your life and use it every day as you go about the business of living Using the Wheel to find Balance How do we use the Sacred Wheel to find balance in our lives The key to using the Sacred Wheel is movement the way you move from one direction to another Are you balanced between manifestation in the south and spirit in the north so that the two directions are as mirrors reflecting the beauty and fulfillment of your life At the very beginning of Star Woman I talk about how important it is to live in trust and innocence in the south as we progress through a series of life experiences until we reach a state ofwisdom and strength in the north Nobody ever said it is going to be an easy journey the point is are you working toward this end And once you reach the point of wisdom having grown from a life of materialism in the south to a position of spirit in the north you are ready

to a remembrance of who you truly are In my book Medicine Woman I wrote of my experience with Agnes and my power animal nature Agnes dished me up a bowl of hot soup with a strange rich taste The dusk was circling round us in gray shadows encroaching upon the small flickering light of our candle A soft wind blew through the open door Agnes sat on the bed sewing on an old mackinaw Without looking up at me she asked Lynn what do you really want What do you think I want I want the marriage basket Agnes said nothing I sipped the last drop of soup and put the spoon down Agnes laid the mackinaw aside and looked at me directly To get the marriage basket you must become the proper receptacle she said You must ripen your void so that the energy of what you want in this case the basket will flow magnetically toward your belly You must become what she wants so that there is no separating you When you think of yourself as a separate entity you will obstruct that current and the basket will defeat you I was bewildered by these terms How will I know when I have ripened my void You will simply become aware of your power You will feel your time You cannot avoid it Agnes I don t understand your terminology How can I learn all these things That s why you are here to learn She put the mackinaw in her dresser drawer walked out onto the porch and sat down I poured a cup of tea and followed Agnes was watching the northern lights Gold and pink they seemed to be heralding a carnival on the other side of the world I sat down on the steps and marveled at the play of color across this strange woman s face I felt a special tenderness for her Her face was a messenger of great pain to me because it reminded me that what I had known as my life was dying I couldn t even explain to myself how I was different but I knew I was evolving into a person I wouldn t have recognized a few months ago It was like being in love Tonight the grandparents have a vital gift for you I m going to give you your medicine Agnes patted the wooden boards and motioned me to sit closer to her If you were an animal what would you be I was puzzled You are always asking me questions that I have a hard time answering I thought for several minutes and then said I ve always loved horses or maybe a deer Agnes smiled at me You are a black wolf She watched my reaction and then put out a hand and touched my forehead Waken within yourself She took her finger away The touch gave me a peculiar sensation throughout my body You are the black wolf instead
