they see a lot of self serving servants serving themselves first their cronies second and the people last If Thomas Jefferson were alive today do you know what he d say Well first thing he s say is Boy do I feel old Geez I must be 260 by now Second thing he d say radical that he was is Let s fire those servants and hire new ones and if we really want to protect people from terror we should strip search the government too While the Swami s slant is decidedly progressive he insists that he is strictly middle of the road but middle of a very different road a road less traveled where people with different points of view actually listen to each other and find common solutions We need more forums and fewer againstums The Right to Laugh party seeks to bring together all political points of view in laughter explains the Swami because only when we lovingly laugh at our foolishness can we seriously change things for the better Swami s basic message is the same alternative he poses to spending billions on the war on drugs Improve reality When reality is improved to the point where people choose to laugh instead of criticize the Swami says we will achieve the uncritical mass needed to bring about Nonjudgment Day That is where everyone wins beauty contests Swami claims to have had a vision of what Nonjudgment Day might be like all of the world leaders at the United Nations beginning their sessions with the Hokey Pokey and instead of Armageddon we ll have Disarmaggedon The more we can visualize this the more likely we are to step into a future of our own design and believe me that beats what we ve been stepping into

a man on Uranus by the end of the week George Bush was responsible for a great spiritual advance last year as well He upgraded the Golden Rule for the new millennium It s now the Gold Rule Doodoo unto others before they can doodoo unto you And say what you will President Bush has made great strides on behalf of minority representation Never before have we had a President who was looking out for a smaller minority Now this is the State of the Universe Address and seen from that higher perspective things look great I am happy to report that the Universe continued to expand in 2002 and in fact they actually had to let the Photon Belt out a another notch An expanding Universe means more jobs too so we can expect a steady influx of aliens looking for work Yep the Universe just keeps purring in perfection ever changing as usual The planets continue to harmoniously spin in their orbits and except for the occasional case of asteroids they just calmly go about their business Meanwhile back here on earth things are a bit more problematical We still haven t fully recovered from that vicious dogma attack of 911 But as an optimystic I believe you can indeed teach an old dogma new tricks simply by changing the emPHAsis to another sylLABle Instead of focusing only on emergency measures why not take emerge n SEE measures When we emerge from our fearful hiding places and see from the cosmic comic perspective we realize that beneath all the stress and distress and sadness in life there is a deep well of joy Each time we let laughter bubble up from the well we experience deep wellness Levity helps us overcome gravity especially when we shine the light of laughter on those poorly lit corridors of power Do you know what the leading cause of terrorism is It s seriousness I m serious Think about it Those people have no sense of humor Otherwise how could they believe they will get to heaven by putting other people through hell Here is my vision A suicide bomber arrives at the Gates of Heaven and God clops him over the head and says SCHMUCK What d you do that for 72 virgins YOU get one 72 year old virgin and his name starts with Ayatollah But if Americans are willing to revive the Iraqi Horror Picture Show just to feed our out of control oil habit how are we that different How many innocents will be put through hell just to preserve our little corner of relative heaven There is no real peace without harmony and balance only the vicious cycle of injustice Peons get tired of getting peed on right You get pissed on and pretty soon you re gonna get pissed off This causes the hot spots to flare and pretty soon you have an uprising which usually results in a downfall All these uprisings and downfalls can

the local animal shelter We had young children and she was a perfect dog for us as she was easy going in temperament and loved everyone who came to visit or play at our home Being a young mother with two young children I always had a lot to do and I was not always aware of where Punkin was all of the time as I should have been She was always there so we never thought about keeping a collar and tag on her One in the late afternoon in mid November I noticed the house was unusually quiet and still I looked around and realized Punkin was not there I realized I had not seen her since early morning when my children left for school I rushed out to the front yard and what I saw made my heart turned over The front gate was wide open and Punkin was nowhere in sight I frantically patrolled the neighborhood calling her name asking people if they had seen her Everyone knew who Punkin was and where she lived but the neighbors just shook their heads saying no they had not seen her but they call us if they did Next I went to our small post office the local center for any and all news in our close knit community No one had reported a found dog that day It was a very quiet and sad night for our family Dinner that night was untouched We sat at the table our ears straining to hear a bark at the door or the phone ring with news about Punkin being found We went to bed with heavy hearts Punkin was still missing Early the next morning after the children were on the bus I began again on foot looking for Punkin As I walked I remembered there was a lady in our town who was known as the dog lady because of her love for dogs I did not know her personally but for some inexplicable reason I knew I had to tell her about Punkin being lost I tracked her down and told her my sad story She said that she would be on the lookout for Punkin as she went about her day doing errands As I returned home I halfway expected Punkin to be back in her yard waiting to greet me but she was not there But later that afternoon I received a call from the post office The person calling told me excitedly that Punkin had been found She was safe and waiting for me at the post office We rushed right down and had a tearful joyful reunion with our lost family member filled with licks and happiness all around Then I learned more about the details of her recovery The dog lover I had talked to the day before had found Punkin After I left her the woman decided to make a new dessert recipe that called for an ingredient she did not
