  • Renal Transplant Fellowship
    year and thereafter The one year nephrology fellowship provides a broad experience in all clinical aspects of kidney transplantation The clinical experience will be a combination of inpatient and outpatient direct patient care didactic sessions training with pathology surgery and tissue typing specialists During this year the fellow spends a minimum of six months on the inpatient service where the fellow will be involved in the care of renal and kidney pancreas transplant patients pre and post transplantation and trained to perform transplant kidney biopsies The Renal Transplant Fellow will attend outpatient clinic and will be actively involved in the assessment of potential recipients and donors The fellow will have the opportunity to attend and participate in clinical and research conferences in nephrology and transplantation including a specific transplant core curriculum The transplant team has an active research program and the candidate will have the opportunity to participate in research during the six months of the fellowship when the fellow is not on the inpatient service The successful completion of at least two years of an ACGME approved general nephrology fellowship training program is required Contact Applications are accepted from graduates of U S and foreign medical schools that have successfully completed or are currently in post graduate training in Nephrology in an ACGME approved training program in the United States However applications will not be accepted at this time if the applicant is a holder of a J1 or H1 visa We require a personal interview of all applicants To streamline the interview process we extend invitations for personal interviews only to select applicants You will be notified if you are chosen for a personal interview after your written application is complete To request an application please contact Laura Kipper Washington University in St Louis Phone 314 362 8351
