  • Caribou Season On For 2014
North is healthy with an estimate of over 525 000 animals based on a recent government inventory As an added bonus we will be acquiring additional tags for this coming season allowing us to accommodate additional hunters With previous restrictions on our tag allowance this is welcome news and will certainly allow us to accommodate the increasing demand from hunters wanting to take one of most impressive caribou species in

  • BIG PUSH FROM THE NORTH BRINGS IN THE BIG BULLS!
on the difficult side when the boys and our girl Sue Morse on her 10 th strait successful hunt with us went into camp on September 24 By mid week caribou were really scarce and it looked like our 100 shooting opportunity record for the season was not to be Saturday morning brought in news that a few bulls were moving in from the North By the following morning this sprinkling of animals eventually turned into a flood of big groups of mature bulls heading through camp Unfortunately the majority of our hunters had already tagged out and could only look and take in the scene and dream of their return trip to the North Tuktu Native word for caribou best described as the deer that disappears and can appear continues to travel like the wind We finished the season offering our hunters a 100 opportunity for success on bull caribou I want to thank my crew of great guides and cooks our local transportation suppliers Air Inuit and First Air Airlines for their great services provided this past season Cheers from the North Country Sammy Cantafio Last Updated on Tuesday 01 October 2013 14 47 Profile Login Username Password

  • STEADY CARIBOU AND HIGH SUCCESS FOR OUR HUNTERS!
ideal hunting conditions So far we have experienced a 100 success rate on bulls except for one hunter who while having numerous opportunities to take a couple of nice caribou pursued his efforts with the bow to try to take something exceptional A reminder that bowhunting for caribou in this open country can be challenging I certainly respect this hunter for his determination in sticking to the bow Some real nice caribou have been taken so far with good antler growth Some of the bulls this past week started loosing their velvet and we are expecting the large majority to be out of velvet in the coming week Bird hunting for ptarmigan has been exceptional and fishing for big brook trout just out of this World A caribou hunt with Ungava Adventures offers more than just taking a caribou expect our guides to keep you busy hunting small game fishing for trout and salmon and exploring this great country during or after your caribou hunt this I promise and GUARANTEE If you are planning to join us on a future caribou hunt keep in mind that upcoming restrictions are in effect making for limited permit availability At this date we
